So I'm on the way to the next county to pay a speeding ticket i got last month. I'm on 1-75 cruisin about 80 when all of sudden...CLUNK CLACK CLACK CLUNK CLUNK..horrid noises from beneath the hood. No smoke..No overheating...Just violent noise and vibration. Long story short..I get up there pay the ticket and get my car towed back to the house.. Sounds like I've thrown a rod on the 7A-FE. Here's my dilemma...I was researching an engine swap for maybe..in a year when i had the funds..but now here i sit with a ****ed up engine. Financially..I could take out a loan for the swap...or pay some body to rebuild the motor. But why rebuild an engine that's fairly weak in the first place? Especially since it's got a fair amount of miles on it. I'm all for the swap..Just gotta convince the parents..But I'm 19,payed for the car and in my name..So I could really give a fluck what they think. Anyways just wanted you're alls input on the matter. And if this isn't enough I have a paper on Medieval Sexuality due tommorow if anybody has any thought on that.

Time for some sticky green medicine...What a day what a day.

So yea I'm goin 3SGTE. Got about a grand to spend right now..so I'm gonna borrow the difference and start on it. Buying an all-trac front clip but what about the transmission? Am I going to have to find a MR2 tranny and use the MR2 and celica axles? Still curious how this works.

If you are tight on the funds just use your trans.. assuming you have a 5spd in your 6g.

If you want to upgrade the trans then get an e153 from a V6 camry... I got mine from a 99 camry.

Anywho.. How does this go... if you don't have an LSD then you can just use the inner axles from the alltrac transmission along with the outter axles from the alltrac...

If you have a toyota LSD then you will need to use MR2 turbo lsd inner axles .. and once again alltrac outters.. no matter what you are using alltrac outters..

The MR2 LSD inners are 400 dollars for the set.. that is what I paid for them anyway from toyota..

I spent a total of like.. 1600 on my trans setup.. 400 for the trans, 400 for the lsd inners, 400 for the lsd shipped from japan, and 300 to get the lsd installed.. I didn't feel like ****ing that up and another like.. 140 for the alltrac outter set.

Yea mine's a 5spd. I'm going to get the alltrac clip. Gonna need shift cables and motor mounts from a GT correct? What about using the GT transmission and drive axles? I was thinking about going to a junkyard and finding that since it'd be alot easier than ordering more tranmission stuff considering I'm already ordering a clip. As far as how I drive...I don't rev it above 5 grand and usually shift around 4. Plenty of oil..I actually had a gallon in my car that I'd just bought to change it...so go figure.

I don't think the previous two ladies regularly changed their oil..so down the road...boom boom click clack.

I'm anxious to get started on this. I dont feel like paying anyone to do it either.. My neighbor has a lift and tools..everything..I just gotta convince my dad to let me use the garage. If not..I'ma find some place to do it. I don't trust mechanics...And I don't work weekends so it may take some time but I'm driving my first car. 1990 BMW 325i on chrome wheels..Git 'R Done.
