Thinking of making a BIG plunge towards a bigger upgrade to our car sometime during the next few months. EMS obviously is going to be at the top of the list because I would like mainly to delete the AFM and get as accurate as possible without taking chances. I noticed that AEM makes a plug and play for a 90-93 All-Trac....and was wondering if this would be a plug and play for a 99 GT with a Gen II GTE in it??? I'm just wondering if that would work or it would be a safer bet to go universal and wire it in (as painful as that would be......Doc, expect the call if that happens. ) due to the fairly extensive rewiring that has to be done to a 99 GT int he first place to even get the 3S-GTE into it.

there are no direct plug in plays for our swapped cars due to the fact that we have to splice 2 different harnesses together, would be nice if there were though.

Didn't the all-tracs also run on AFM?

Wait... ok so what do you mean no plug and play? what would having two harnesses matter? the connection is made at the ecu. why would a 3sgte ecu pinout not run on an AEM computer ment to pulg into the harness? wouldnt it run fine... if a stock ecu can run your engine then why couldnt a full standalone?

If you already did the swap on your car.. then the AEM will PLUG AND PLAY for you.. you already converted all the wires needed for the 3sgte ECU and you've already plugged all 3 plugs into the ECU.. therefore, the AEM will plug and play.

Just make sure you get the right version... There isn't a universal one for 90-93 there is one for 90-91 and a separate one for 92-93.

^^^ RIIIIIGHT
the big players that want some more power and accuracy (like being able to vent bov without side effects). Are infact ditching the AFM. so stop inflicting your opinions as if they are fact. If you want to run an EMS because you have a valid reason for justifying needing one. then by all means DO IT! we need more can do attitude with our celicas any questions feel free to hit me up on some EMS options. BTW!! AEM is a very good choice but like it was mentioned before with the st185 setup make sure you know its 90-91 or 92-93 Good luck! and happy boosting! -------------------- 94' ST Coupe - 5sfe Motor swap and brake swap.

The stock ECU can suck a c.... you fill in the blank. The AFM can also literally go suck a .... big ass stupid ugly piece of **** box worthless piece of crap that takes up half your eff'n engine bay and then gives you redonkerous problems if there is a tiny vacuum leak.

do you have the maf replaced with a map sensor yet? if you did the vaccum leak wouldnt affect the AEM that much but its still never a good idea to have a leak anywhere with any engine with any computer management system. stock or not

No.. I still have the stock ECU and the AFM..
Atleast with a MAP system if you have a leak it isn't the end all of your driving expirence.. it's more or less if anything a higher idle.
