If you mean hp/(overall vehical weight) ratio, you are incorrect.

If you mean that the added weight of the 2jz threw off the F/R balance so that handling will be negatively effected in a material way, I disagree. This ride would be an absolute blast.

I am going to do an LS2 S2000 - just haven't found the right car yet. The LS2 is better than the 2jz for reliability (opinion), torque, gas milage, and weight purposes.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

um... the ls2 does not have better reliability over the 2jz... This is true when it comes to swapping an ls in place of the rotory in an rx-7, but the 2jz might just be one of the best motors ever designed, and every time you put a pushrod in block camshaft v8 in place of an divine 2jz, god kills a kitten. laugh.gif

Also the 6cyl turbo 2jz is waaaaay heavier than a stock 4cyl na s2 motor. it for sure has thrown off the perfect weight balance of an s2. so would an ls, does'nt matter that its aluminum. I would just stroke the honda motor then turbo the crap out of it!
less power, but more balance. Just what my plan of attack would be. But this guy deserves major props because that is siiiiihiiick! godly does not even begin to describe that thing. if i tried to race that thing and heard a 2jz roar up and blow by me, I would be very confused... And most likely spend the remainder of my life thinking about what happened in a mental institution kindasad.gif

You will note that my comment indicated "opinion". However, if we were comparing a 400hp LS2 vs. a 400hp (BPU) 2jz, I hasten to add that my opinion is more grounded in fact that yours.

People continually give the 2jz more props than it deserves - particularly when it comes to reliability for modded ones. Talk to a group of hard core Mark IV Supra guys and they will tell you that maintenance (not the preventative kind) is common on these motors once they have been modified.

Having said all that, they are both great motors and I concur that the guys that put this machine together deserve major props.

As for weight balance and such, I will give you a full report when my car is complete. wink.gif

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

I like the LS Rx7s and Miatas..

2JZ may be a great engine.. but its all preference.. its not always the BEST for every platform

You sir, read my mind. EXACTLY What I was thinking. Could this be the dawn of a new era and the LSx/RX7 swap a thing of the past now???? biggrin.gif

ls1 is a great motor, and rotary isn't the most reliable, but i would do everything i could to keep the 13b
