at a local junk yard i found a late 80s gt4 and the guy said for $250 i can take the manifold, ct-26 turbo, downpipe, and oil pan i already have the 2 bar map sensor off that car........i have a boost controller and a stock GST BOV, im gettin the oil feed and drain lines as well as the coolant, bending my own intermediate pipe (turbo to intake manifold) and actual intake, do i need to do injectors, intercooler, timing setting, all that for 5 psi?

There's a good chance that turbo needs a rebuild.
You need some 360 cc injectors It would be good to get an intercooler, even if a small one either that or get a water injection kit If you don't have an intercooler the car will heat soak really bad. So it'd be kind of like a nitrous car... (like don't use it for more than 15 secodns type of thing, and let it cool down for 15-30 minutes between runs)... However if you ahd an intercooler you could really drive the pants off of it. I know you want to do this cheap, but you wil not stop at 5psi, especially since you're a DIY kind of guy and will keep throwing parts at it. The other thing is, it may not boost lower than 7-8psi because of the spring rate in the CT26 wastegate actuator. So in building it, build it for that much psi, because without any intercooler pressure drop you may not see as low a psi as you think (My setup was identical to yours Gen1 3sgte manfiold/ct26/dp, vortech 8:1 FMU, 1 bar map + check valves, 2.25" pipe straight to the TB, custom 2.25" exhaust and cold air intake) The car was boosting 6.5psi with no controller. so thinking you will get 5psi out of it will not happen unless you have an exhaust that is choking you 1.5psi worth of air... -------------------- 2005 MB C200 Kompressor- K&N, Apexi WS2 Catback, DIY Voltage stabilizer, Intrax Springs, H&R RR swaybar, VDO Boost Gauge @ 6psi, Greddy L7 plugs, +0 Rear tires

well what im thinking that this kit will cost me around $500 and im hoping to get somewhere around 5-8 pounds doesnt matter and i dont want to change too much so im gonna run the stock exhaust, and about 6 months later im getting a 3sgte so the turbo kit only has to last me about 6 months

The other thing is, yours is a gen6... so you can't bump back the timing... which is why i recommended the meth injection up to you. We can only advise actually, on the 94-95, you can still manually adjust timing @ the distributor. ![]() -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

none of the 3s dp's bolt up to the 5s mid pipes.
ok maybe i was wrong about the timing, but that doesn't mean he doesn't need the fuel ...at least a FPR or an FMU if you don't want to get injectors. -------------------- 2005 MB C200 Kompressor- K&N, Apexi WS2 Catback, DIY Voltage stabilizer, Intrax Springs, H&R RR swaybar, VDO Boost Gauge @ 6psi, Greddy L7 plugs, +0 Rear tires

larger injectors are always a good idea, because u can only flow so much fuel through stock injectors. I would look into what teh stock 5s injectors max out at and what fuel requirments ull need. also remember that maxing out injectors isnt that great of an idea.
