My New Toy Options

Hello peeps

I got myself a new toy to play with, as most of you know I blew the motor in my celica a wile ago and was stuck with deciding what to do with it, The good news is that I will be rebuilding it with a new 5sfe and the plan is to run it with ITB (Independent Throttle Body) because I really want to build an itb motor and because I autocross it I dont want to swap in a 3s since I dont need the power of it (not worth the money.) anyway I Finaly found exactly what I wanted at a small dealer in auburn, I;ve been in to em for a long time and have had horrible luck finding one with all that I wanted, however luch struck about a week ago, and since then I have made a purchase.



[gata love stock suspention, no reason to lower it, and its already tight, just some thicker sway bars and I'm set, only problem is that on fast tight corners the back tires can rub the body, just gata curl the lip on the fenter up and it will tuck just enough to clear ]



tossed my celicas stock wheels back on it and took my E-2's and toyo proxies for the impreza, It handels so far beyond what my celica could do, and of course AWD kicks a**. I bought it 100% stock from the dealer with 68k miles (1 local owner, non smoker) it has every avalible factory option including the premiun infinity sound system, and cf dash. Basicly I'm in love. within the next week I plan to have it tinted and de-badged, well kinda going to take all the badging off on the trunk and the subaru logo in the grill and place the 2.5RS logo in the grill. also clear corners and side markers. I'm debating a urithane front lip that flows with the stock sides then having them painted.

5s with itb? what kind of gains are you expecting? how are you gonna go about doin it?

nice car, btw.. i'm planning on picking either one of these up or a used s2000/350z for my next ride.

not exspecting any massive gains, its really just for fun, not for power, I dont have any set plans for it yet, I'm gana start by getting a extra stock 5s intake manifold and figure a way to mount the thorttle bodies on there and what size I should get, keeping the injectors in the same location etc. but all of that is a wase away I gata get my motor out strip it and get a new bare motor, swap my head etc. over to it and get it in and running first, then I can mess with itb.

be careful about launching that thing, those tranny dont last very long (depending on how you drive) although i must say GOOD purchase!!! have fun!

I test drove a 03 wrx, was not impressed at all, maybe it was just having problems but the turbo lag was nasty and it did not pull that hard. plus it felt pretty werid to drive, had a lose suspention (but thats just me, mabey my exspectations were to high.)

I wasn't aware that there was an Infinity sound system upgrade available in the last imprezas (unless that's what subaru uses for the acessory sound system components)...

Stepping from GC's to stock WRX suspension? that would be different. I know I test drove an 03 WRX and it was okay. Not too impressive, but it did get up to 100 without me really noticing.

idk the specs on it but its infiniti components up front with 6.5s in the back, and a clarion tape/cd deck.
