I have owned my Celica for 4 months or so & read on the net that the high level brake light on the boot was introduced in Oct 1995, this means mine can't be the 1994 model (UK M reg) it's registered as due to having this brake light.

Is there any other features i can look for to find out the year?

Front bumper. 94-95 are different than 96-99. Look in my profile to see a 96+ and then yours look like 94-95.

It's either a 94 or 95 but i'm worried it may be registered wrong when it was brought to the UK from Japan.

There are two important differences in communication of dates - there is model date and production date. Typically production is earlier than model. So the case could be that Oct 1995 is model date for introduction of some features but actually the cars were in production already in 1994.

I know a case when a guy totalled his Carlos Sainz, insurance wanted to pay him based on AWD prices as they said that CS was introduced one year later than production date of this guy's car. This was exactly the difference between model and production dates.

biggrin.gif hope it's one of mine posts wink.gif. I believe best is this one (I hope laugh.gif ). However you should find something like this on your car:

Frame number (like ST202-0130523) and Model number (like ST202-BLPZF)

That plate you can find here:

Your car could just have a 1995+ boot from a different Celica.
