Its 30 degrees out on a friday morning and u say to urself "im just going to wash the wheels" then it turned into "im just going to wash the back end too since im burning oil and the license plate is pretty much black" then it turned into "oh im just going to wash the whole car"

Now its all nice and clean but of course its been raining and snowing since. I love my car all over again when its all nice and clean. I dont reccommend washing your car in 30 degree whether wearing shorts tho.

I wish i woulda taken pics of my car before and after. the wheels went from looking gun metal to looking alloy :-)

granted i went back to hating my car cuz he wouldnt start after i gassed up in seattle. so i wiggled the battery and all of a sudden he started. then i get on the ferry and the boat docks and it wouldnt start again. So embarassing. Then its been starting fine. I dont know whats up with my car. something lose with the battery im assuming. I clean him all up and what does he do for me? BREAKS! what a hater! :-P

Dedicated, or certifiable. laugh.gif

> Now its all nice and clean but of course its been raining and snowing since.

Well U got a layer of wax on it ~ tongue.gif

> I dont reccommend washing your car in 30 degree whether wearing shorts tho.

How are you hands chapped ? I end up soaked no matter what I wear washing the car.
It is tough to get the rocker panels.

> granted i went back to hating my car cuz he wouldnt start after i gassed up in seattle.

Bummer.

> so i wiggled the battery and all of a sudden he started.

Well basic electrical issue then. kindasad.gif
How old is the battery ?

After I had trouble starting, I checked all the grounds, ground straps, and grounding points.
A little rust is major PITA with starting. Especailly in cold weather.
U got the manuals ? Or look at them online ? Look for the grounding
points and clean them Well. At least take off the battery posts and CLean
them as well as U cleaned the wheels. Time to buy new terrminals ?
Nice new gold ones ? I use silver for (-) Gold for +. The Toyota crap
seems to get dirty pretty fast. Then I got some battery spray to
keep the rust from coming back. Easy to get at parts stores.

4th gen ST165 are Notorious for not starting. I assume 1/2 is dirty grounds & clamps.

Regards;

I had the same sort of problem a while back. clean the battery terminals and cable connections. if that doesn't do it check the cables themselves, or just get new cables they aren't too expensive.

but yeah, F- washing the car when its cold... I just go to the car wash. biggrin.gif

Man, I can't even imagine driving a car in snow...the only times I've been in the snow was with either a van or an SUV...I think I'd be too scared to try and drive the Celi in it tongue.gif

My old 2nd gen Celica had a huge crack from using hot water to remove the ice/snow from the windshield when I lived in New York. Did they make the 6th gen Celica windshields better? I know I've had a 1/2" long crack for about 3 years that doesn't appear to have lengthened at all.

dedicated. How about washing your car in the rain?

This whole snow fiasco we just went through up here in WA is like hell, because all that sand on the roads gets kicked up and lands on the front of the car. The Celica is dirty frown.gif
