So I'm a firefox fan, I find it alot easier and convenient to use and more customizable than IE. However I have been extremely disappointed with the least 2.0 release. It seems to be ridiculously unstable. I resorted to uninstalling everything and using a new profile and new extensions to limit the crashes I was getting on a daily basis. Its better but not perfect.

I would like to hear from the FF users about how they feel and their experiences with 2.0.

Also: FF 3.0 Alpha is available for dl.

I downloaded it and really didn't like it. After tweaking with the about:config a while i got it to do what i wanted it to maily put the tab close button back on the right side. I only had it crash once. other than that, I uninstalled and installed 1.5.0.8 because, well im not sure I just felt better with it.

Been on FF 2.09 for about.. 2 months ? It only crashed once.. and that was when i interrupted a java program from loading.. so i supposed java crashed it. I do find it odd that you found it so unstable.

I like it...seems plenty reliable and stable for me. But then again, so did 1.5.

I'm big fan of Firefox. I have been using it for years. True is I like it because of many add-ons (some unbelievable handy).
Now about 2.0... there are just two things I hate about it:

- close button is not on the right no more (add-on handled that wink.gif)
- width of tabs is fixed and if you have opened more then 10 tabs, rest are hidden (must get used to it)

...and about stability? I have no problem with that... (btw. I have "tab mix plus" add-on and it can restore last session wink.gif)

I do not use FireFox too much, but I recently DLed IE7, and it was unstable as crap on my laptop. Webpages took up to 4x as long to load. No idea why. kindasad.gif I may start using FireFox full time.

I have a ton of add-ons and I'm beginning to think some of which are causing my problems. I do have TMP so I restore sessions everytime. I have StumbleUpon, ForecastFox, FasterFox, plus a ton more. I think I have a dozen or so add-ons.

I've been reading around the web (ie engadget) and seen alot of the same instability but from what you guys are saying its not much of a problem.

i used to love firefox, but it started to crash and take for ever to load. So i switched over to opera. I think opera is a better web browser.

2.0 already has a restore last session option.

I like it enough. My biggest complaint is that my little bookmarks plugin that put whatever ones I set into the right click menu doesn't work anymore. I lived by that thing.

mine has been very stable. more so then 1.5 was.

try uninstalling some of your plugins. sometimes they can cause ff to crash.

Agree, be careful with add-ons. That's it.
