What i would do if i want some hps to my celica is dropping on some st205 3sgte engine. Its easier to swap and gives you better numbers for the start and its with lower mileages (also costs little bit more). But man if you really want some supra killer change away your celica or get a gt4. Just dont make yourself a joke by trying it with fwd celica.

QUOTE(alaNi @ Dec 2, 2006 - 12:30 AM) what do i have to do to push over 400hp with a 5s - 94 hatchback. i wanna make a "mini supra". give me a parts lists with prices please thanks With a proper build this should be possable. Pressure2 is over halfway there with his 5s on stock internals. The main problem seems to be wheel spin with anything over 250 whp. -------------------- JDM guy made me do it.

Import an st205, and build off of that if you have that kind of money too throw at it. If you want that much hp in a Celica, you will want and need AWD.

AWD is the most difficult part. 1) you need an awd drive train, such as: axel, drive shafts, COMPLETELY new rear suspention: awd tranmission 2) you need to custom mount this hardware to your celica, buy cuting the body up to peices and welding it back together. 3) your wheel spin should be eleminated by the awd conversion but if you want to get rid of wheel spin completely, you need to need to find a limited slip differental for you car. The cost will be very very very high, because of sourcing out all the parts, and labor. You will need to find a experience shop that can do all the fabrication of the rear suspention correctly. If the rear suspention is not correctly mounted your car will not drive straight and becomes dangerious to drive. Even after they have sucessfully mounted the rear suspention, the frame of the car has been modifided and no one knows how safe the car will be in a crash afterwards. |

once again, what supra are we talking about, you should be able to take a sock one with a swap and basic bolt ons, only like 250-300whp... high hp on street cars are nothing but dyno and highway queens, because even on rwd, 1000hp is stupid. now stop with the assonine questions...

I think 300hp on a 5s would be doable. you'd probably need to get some forged internals, and then a real big turbo, and a complete fuel and ignition system, then get it properly tuned... I think you could do it. it would probably be cheaper to swap a 3s and do some mods to that to make it 300 hp though.

a gazillion hp can come out of the 5s with $$$ nothing more too it.
you can also get awd for some more $$$, (ps awd conversions have been done) so yeah its basically depends on how deep your wallet is. -------------------- |

If you really know what you're doing, I bet you could get 400hp out of a 5sfe for around 10-15k. Maybe less, or closer to 10k. Then a limited slip or locking differenctial would stop or at least help wheel spin. It's easy to type that. lol

That's a good bit of work and tuning to get 300hp even from a 3sgte. Seems to me, if you really have to ask if you can beat a Supra with a 5sfe Celica, you don't have the know-how to do this kind of work. So, I think you better start thinking about labor. This is all just a freaking joke anyway. You're not going to do anything. -------------------- Live Free, Be Happy

Sure its nice to put up those kinds of numbers, but actually racing them... If both Tufy and the Supra had 600hp it would have been a much closer race This post has been edited by WH95TE: Dec 3, 2006 - 3:05 AM -------------------- |

That way you can put down as much money as you're willing to, and get it nice and fast compared to civics, eclipses, etc. If all you care about is making your celica "faster than a supra", let me give you some advice. Sell the thing and just buy a supra, cause in the end it'll be cheaper... PS: that JZ pic is freaking hilarious. =] I showed it to my non-car-enthusiastic friend but she didn't get it...lol....no big surprise there. -------------------- |
