So, as the title says, im thinkin maybe we should have a mid winter/winter 6gc and skiing/snowboarding meet. Figure out where we should go, do it for a weekend, like meet up on a Friday or Thursday afternoon, go skiing for the friday (maybe), saturday, and sunday depending on where we go. We can figure out where we r gonna meet up, where we r gonna go skiing, etc. I brought all my ski stuff down to the college on friday since im not gonna b driving back to Toronto untill like after January. So its all sittin in my room and im ichin to get out on the hills.

how tempting is that???

Any ways, so any one else wanna get together and hit the slopes??

If you can/if you have suggestions on where to go skiing, can you please post with location/map, and rough travel distance from Detroit, im thinkin that might be our meet up point for the Michiganers..but thats just a rough point of interest.

So....its snowed a few times, but nothin seems to stick. its like it goes down to like 30 then back up to 55. Any ways, just wanted to give an update, Im going to be in windsor untill about Dec 17th and not gonna b back untill probably jan 7th or 8th. So maybe do this b4 the 17th if theres snow, and if not then in the new year? Also, where you guys wanna go? I have no idea of how big the hills here are, how many runs, if they are challanging or not, etc. Any ways, give your imput. Im willing to travel like maybe go up further north and do a 2-4 day trip?? Any ways, just wanted to let every one know whats goin on with this idea and wanted some more imput.

OK, so i went to one of the guys at the local/one of the 2 ski/snowboard shops in Windsor. And he said the best place(s) to ski in Michigan/this area of the country is Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands (sisterclubs). They are about 4 hours north of Detroit in Upper Michigan. But apparently are rediculusly good hills. How does that sound to any one??..Its $43 for 9-9 from Wensday-Friday and then $51 for 9-9 on Saturdays and $51 9-4 on sundays. So maybe we do a Thursday-Sunday trip?? Get to the resort Thursday, stay friday, saturday, sunday then go home?? Sound good??

EDIT: Also, if your interested in going there more than once, and your a college/university student, they have a College Student Season Pass. Its $249 and its unlimited skiing at both resorts. And if you think about it..3 days skiing is like $60 cheaper than the season pass.

So, since there isnt any snow (as of yet..please come end of the week), and i only have 2 weeks of school left, i think this meet is gonna be sometime in the new year. As of now, im thinking of going on a road trip to Calgary with my friend at the end *most likely* of February, so maybe then?? There will be snow, it will actually be cold, etc. But yea maybe?? im still thinkin we should go to Boyne Highlands and/or Boyne Mountain. Any one for this? apposed?? Common, i need some people to be in or interested on this meet.

does anybody in the same general area bmx or anything?

i've been wanting to find some new places to ride, and if the snow is going to hold out long enough, we might as well meet up and do that!

my bad if this gets filed under "thread jack" biggrin.gif

not hijaxed..still a meet if theres no snow..lol. I BMX and so does my room mate, but my bike is in Toronto right now. Im probably gonna bring it down for end of winter/spring, so maybe we can do a BMX/Celi meet then. You ever ridden the sk8 park here in windsor? its a small one down by the University. Im kinda ichin to get back on my bike, i missed the last 2 years, 1 cuz of my car accident, and 2nd cuz i was workin my ass off.

Always down for some snowboarding, but probably wouldn't drive anymore than 6 or 7 hours to do it unless I was there for the weekend. And judging how things have been at work recently, I couldn't get a weekend off if I tried.

So far ive fit 3 pairs of skis, poles, boots, a cooler and 2 other ppl in my celi with my sparcos and my rear strut bar..wasnt easy, but hey it can all fit

nah, haven't ridden anywhere in canada. there are a few nice spots around where i live, the campus, etc...but alot of them are getting to be busts with the po-po cracking down so much on riders. i need some new places to ride!

i got a sweet new 26" a couple months ago, and i've outgrown alot of my usual haunts since.

i'll keep in touch, spring would be cool too.

i work too much as well tongue.gif
