take the supposed "8th gen desing" ^ add some wider fenders in the rear, like alot wider, and make the front a lil more bubbly and slant the front down.

The new Yaris is to come out in Febuary with the 1.8 130hp motor. That is the new Celica. Toyota is attempting to bring back a little sport with it's TS badges. No more TRD though.

What do you mean no more TRD? Now that Toyota bought TRD and it's not a seperate entity I heard they were actually going to be doing more TRD vehicles. My friend just bought the new TRD Tacoma and his brother is on the waiting list for the new TRD Tundra when it comes out in Jan/Feb.

the only statements i disagree with are those that say 'tC' stands for 'toyota celica'. i think that's coincedence. it was supposed to be the xC but volvo happened to have that. when i bought my tC, i did find the entire car to be just like my 6th gen with more modern styling inside and out and upgraded motor... and that new car smell. esentially, a fully loaded 6th gen celi gt wouldve felt like an almost direct upgrade. i had a base st with the only options being power windows and locks, so i was 'wowed' by the sunroof, audio system, 4 wheel disc brakes, abs, and the other extras that came in the release series i bought. i must agree the tC is the 8th gen and one of the things that stopped them from giving it the celica nameplate is that it wouldve affected their marketing srategy for the scion brand and their target audience. scion for life!
EDIT: Punch, I just noticed Jamasco in the background. is that jason's tC? This post has been edited by JoKeRkId613: Dec 8, 2006 - 9:21 PM -------------------- |

tC has absolutely nothing to do with the celica, at all. it has an unimpressive motor, and doesn't have an aggressive look like the 5th-7th gens have had.
if anything, it's a sporty camry. in fact, the same motor is found in the camrys & solaras. This post has been edited by sinner96ST: Dec 8, 2006 - 10:29 PM |

eh...this is giving me a headache...no offense to anyone and to their opinions...but i don't see where this is really going because no celica or supra for all that matters is really coming back, until we see it come back...but i do hope (*key word: HOPE) they bring back the supra and the celica; making it a collectors edition car, one of a kind....and making it look meaner without that body style like the infiniti G and the Nissan 300z and other cars that has that same style...just make it looks represent the true TRD RACING SPORTLINE cars...that's all , if they do bring it back...don't go back to its past like the Ford mustangs....move forward with new designs that DIFFERS and SPEAKS for itself, not backwards....lol

Jason you are out of class. You can't compare a low class car to a mid class car. That's like saying I have a pencil too and a pen is pretty sweet. compared to a sharpee its unimpressive. but then again, so is a sharpee compared to a marker. Oh yeah, and the TC has nothing to do with the Celica. The whole TC replacing the Celica scene was just a minor misthought from enthusiasts. It was more of a, "What? No more Celicas? Oh, the TC just came out so I guess they are replacing them or they are the new Celicas." As much as I like the tC's, they can never replace the Celicas. People need to stop trying. Cuz if it was indeed a Celica, it would be called a Celica. Not even in Japan they call it a Celica. This post has been edited by ExSane: Dec 9, 2006 - 12:29 AM -------------------- |

I'd call mine an unimpressive motor in a car that cost me twice as less, and looks twice as better than a tC does. This post has been edited by sinner96ST: Dec 9, 2006 - 12:29 AM |

Ok guys, like the TC all you want. It's still not a Celica and won't ever be the 8th Gen Celica.
