great example of just how bad ass of a car the evo8 is. this is with just basic, exhaust, flash and cams.

surprise ending too. .haha.

Next car i buy wont be a car. Im switching to 2 wheels. I rode a couple time at the end of this summer on a 600 and now, I'm so addicted. Im buying a 2004 Kawasaki 636 for 3500. Might sell the celica for it.... dunno yet.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Damn the ending is freakin scary. I did something like this with my friend once. It was a friday and people with like vettes and m5s were out there doing this. I was wondering what kind of jobs they had since they had time off on a friday to be doing ballin stuff like this.

i think they could have done better with the gauge cluster and the interior. the sti has it beat in that department. but, if you factor in the motor, BIG turbo, BIG brakes, 20psi stock boost, awesome racing seats, AWD, great factory suspension, a ECU that you can reflash all you want, etc...etc.. etc... you can clearly see the value in all of that. most other 30k car might have more luxury items, but they wont have all the performance parts the you get with the evo.

you're right about that point art. EVO does have better factory performance parts compared to the STI.. the EVO MR version's handling definitely better than the STI stock. it doesn't hit 20psi stock though... i maxed out my friend's evo IX at 18psi then it drops to like 14.. it doesn't hold at 18psi. racing seats are nice.. but don't get the leather ones. totally defeats the purpose..and the new STI limited edition, might be the better choice now since they have completely redone the suspension, even better than the new 06 STI. wink.gif

my friends 9 hits 20psi bone stock, but your right, from the factory they are tuned to spike to high boost at around 3-4k and then drop off. now that he has an exhaust, its at around 22psi. with a simple ecu flash mbc, and exhaust, they make 340hp at the wheels smile.gif

yup

i tuned a 2006 evo 9 mr a week ago.

it had o2 housing, turbo back exhaust and a air filter. 336whp on 91 octane

i hope to be tuning my friends evo 9 in a few weeks, he has ported and coated manifold, o2 housing, turbo back exhaust, high flow cat, lower intercooler pipe, bigger FMIC, and a KN filter.

i have tuned a 3-4 evos in the past few weeks, almost makes me wish i had one, but when i'm done with my WRX i wont have that problem
