when i got my celi, it had an alarm system on it ... i'm not sure if this is stock, seeing as there's like no other celi's in the nearby area for me to compare it to ... anyhow, the alarm sets automatically like 15-20 seconds after you shut the door, which can get very annoying, cause i can't ever get back into my car without having my keys with me .... is this a stock alarm system? and if so, is there any way to make the alarm not set itself?

What you're referring to is called passive arming, and my alarm system does it by default too, only the time interval is 45 seconds after the last door is closed. I'd look through your manual for something about disabling passive arming, or ask the person you bought the car from. If you can find out what kind of alarm it is, we can help you out a lot more, but I know that it can be very hard to find the brain for the alarm sometimes.

i don't know exactly what it is, but after reading up about the RS3000 alarm system from toyota, i'm pretty positive that's what it is .... but i don't have a manual, it didn't come with the car when i got it, and i'm not having an easy time finding much info on the alarm online .... ugh!

I'll check tomorrow to see if I still have the manual for mine. I'll scan it and post it for you, maybe it will help you out.

Hey i had the same prob a couple weeks ago. Under the driver seat is the security system. move the seat up and look at it. get a very small screw driver or twezers or something to move the switches on the bottom. I've up loaded pics onto my site here so check it out to see for your self. Move the switch on the left all the way to the right. and move the switch on the right all the way to the left. after i did that my alarm only turns on when u click it and wont turn on 20-30 sec after. I did notice that if i unlock it and dont enter or use the door handle within 20-30 sec it will lock againl. Contact me after u see the pics so i can take them off. Thanks
