Anyone know how to remove the entire upper dashboard? I want to get at the air con.
I've managed to remove most of the other kickplates and trim in the front of the cabin, but can't work out how to get the upper dashboard out. Just to clarify, I do mean the dashboard and not the instrument cluster and surround (I've already removed both the other two). I don't exactly know how i did it once, but it was a crap load of bolts underneath.. it wasn't easy but as long as you take your time and look for all the bolts etc, it will come..
it was hard getting it over the steering wheel i remember... you have to remove the glovebox too |

Its easy getting it out. pretty much any bolts you see attached at the bottom of the dash. Pull the air vents out and their are a couple of bolts there as well and you just pull it.

lol no problem man. At first I was like that too, like what am i getting myself into. Well ive been practicing at the junkyard out of all the celica i found at TTT auto recycler. It's a breeze it should take you no longer than 30mins to get it out. O yea since the dash is attached to the armrest you might want unbolt that off too and whatever is around it.
