ice23q's approach should be able to get you a good start
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showuser=2154

took a 3s-gte head and put in onto his 5s-fe block to make a 5s-gte. it seems like way more work than a 3s swap though.

i've been thinking it'd be fun (if i had unlimited resources of course) to try to make a mid engine celica with that new chevy ls7 engine.

the 3sgte is capable of 400 hp. I've never seen a 5sfe anywhere close to that, I don't think you could do it without dropping in some serious cash. but the 3s will do it... 400 hp in a FWD might not be the greatest though

3sgte is capable of of over 600bhp at the flywheel but I hope you have some real deep pockets...

its definately possible, i mean, 3s, bigger turbo, more boost, upgrade fuel system, good tune all that kind of stuff, the best thing about it is that since its such a stout motor, you really shouldn't HAVE to mess with internals... but in lies the problem is that traction will be a serious issue, thats what ur gonna have to deal with, although ive seen a few 400hp civics and all, but there is alot of suspension upgrades that go with that, and also, they arent geatest on the strip without slicks or anything... it'd be a great highway queen, but it all depends. being faster than a STOCK supra, you should be capable at a 3sgte swap and some basic bolt ons, all depends on the kind of supra ur trying to beat...

This thread is already doomed, but what the heck..

The 3S-GTE engine can make around 1000 hp at the flywheel if done right. But you are looking at a cost for the engine alone that is way more than actually buying and tuning a Supra MK IV.

We have an original Top Secret Supra here in Norway with the 3S-GTE engine pushing atleast 800+ hp. But then again, with the 2JZ-GTE engine you can probably get 1500+ hp.

This thread is probably BS anyway though.. ^^

Tufy's got a supra killer, but he's dumped tens of thousands of dollars in to his gt-four to get it that fast.

if you own anything under 150hp and expect it to be a supra killer, it'd be called a sport bike.

not even close. please read. for 10 grand you might be able to convert your fwd to awd. the only reason tufy can beat a 1000 hp supra with only 600 hp is cuz of better traction off the line due to awd. video. or for 10 grand you can swap in a 3s and mod the ish out of it and possibly reach 400 hp. but like everyone said, that much hp on a fwd car isn't the best idea. the easiest way to beat a supra without spending crazy amounts of money.... autox.

In terms of a 3sgte (rev3), simple bolt-on goodies such as downpipe, flexi-pipe, catback and boost set to 1.1bar should see roughly 300bhp. I think an Apexi FC with injectors ups that figure to around 340bhp.

For 400bhp on it, you will very certainly need to be looking at upping the internals
