Ok, i'm seriously thinking about buying the 404 lip kit, but what i need to know is how it installs? I know it just goes on the front bumped and the side and the rear but does it just screw on, or do you need to mold it? Cause me and my friend would probably do it and i need to be sure that we'll be able too. Thanks. -cnelson.

I actually did both... lol
so that way I know it wont fall off cuz its bolted on, and then molding it just makes it look nicer and more actually part of the car... This post has been edited by CelicaBuddy: Dec 20, 2006 - 11:47 AM -------------------- 2003 Nissan Murano SE |

I had the guy mold mine one cuz i thought it would look better..
but it actually seems to help it hold up better .. But you can Pop Rivet it: mine is with some kinda bodykit glue and screws on the ends for added support: -------------------- ~Daniel~ No Longer Celica Owner.. moved on to a 03 WRX-EJ207

So my main question is, it just goes over the rest of the car right? And is it possible to do with just me and my friend? And how much time are we talking about here? Thanks. -cnelson.

But not sure how long it will take because it depends on the skill, amount of time per day, problems, etc.. You have to count at least 3 or 4 days for painting alone.. Mines just held with a bolt in each arch & the front sits on the bumper lip. This way when it does catch it has some give to stop it breaking. If it was smoothed in mine would look crap as it hits all the time.

i STRONGLY SUGGEST you DONT mold your front lip you can go to autozone or advance and get a rivet set and a rivet gun, have a friend or 2 line the lip up with the bottom end of your front bumper and poke rivets where you see fit when you poke through the non metal portions of the car (bumper) you can be ghetto and place some sort of sheet metal on the other side so that the rivet wont slide out of the plastic (friend of mine used pices of a soda can folded up)
if you mold your front bumper prepare to have to deal with it scraping or if it hits something, cracking the mold and making it look worse. if you just rivet it, you can remove the lip to fix it, or get a new one and start over if you want...trust me, my lip is kinda screwed cheers! -------------------- |

up place the rivet in the rivet gun and place it in the location you want and squeeze. use the tip of the rivet gun to pinch away the rest of metal pin and viola!

I'd not even go that far, my splitter hits ground all the time & the arch fixing is enough, does this fit different to mine (mine in the early front with no bars) as the rest sits on the original bumper mouth lip.
