While driving in Massachusetts I get pulled over by a Mass. State Trooper. I get a ticket for going 97mph ($300) but.... As i'm getting ready to pull off and the trooper gives me a lecture on young kids and speeding, he ends the conversation with "You wouldn't want to mess up your sweet ride". That brought a smile to my face.

Inspection place:
Inspector: What year is your car? Me: 94. Inspector: Sure coulda fooled me...lol Later in the inpection. A mom and her two kids were waiting next in line. The two kids are arguing: No! Its a Supra! Toyota Dealership I parked and I was walking away from my car to the parts dept. Two mechanics drive by. Mechanic1: Wow that is a nice car. I havnt seen a kit like that one before. Me: Thanks, it all OEM Walking back to my car. Head salesman is in the covered display area (kinda in the distance). Salesman: (yelling) Hey! Whos Celica is that! (Then the questions start) "what year is it?".... "Man this car is imaculate!" "How many miles?" "This is the nicest one I've seen" "May I see the inside?" "You dont see these in this color anymore" My favorite- "You take good care of her!" -------------------- |

I had one today, actually about 20 or so min ago. I hadda drive my buddy home from school cuz his car 2 of the coil packs went. He lives like 40 min away in a small tiny town. Any ways, i hung out with him for a few min then headed home and i stopped in this small town called Essex. Its got like 200 ppl in it or so and around here, import drivers are barely around. Its usually muscel cars, domestics or trucks. If your drivin a honda or toyota, ppl give u weird looks. Any ways, so i stopped in at KFC for a snack and i parked my car in the back. So i see some kid riding his bike towards the back and i see him eyin my car. So he disapears for a few min and then i see him come in the front door. Hes probably like 15 or 16 if that. Im sittin there eatin and he comes over and starts askin me about it. Hes like "dude! that a supra or a celica? Its hot man, its a bit of sleeper eh? nice car man, i wish i could have somethin like that but its too hard to find somethin that looks like that around here." then i told him its gonna b for sale soon and his eyes lit up, but when i told him ballpark price i want for it he asked me if i could hold it for him for 4 years so he can buy it..lol. The guy works part time at the KFC. It was kinda cool to get a compliment about it in a town that doesnt like imports.

I got the supra question once, and I didnt even had the spoiler at that time.
My co-worker saw my car once as I was leaving the parking lot, as he takes the bus and rarely see cars in parking. He looked at the car smiling and turning his head. The day after he said, man you car looks mean! -------------------- -Rémy 02 SiR, 08 250R |

yesterday I was helping somebody I work with out to their car (yep, that's what I do... I pu the groceries in the bag, then I take them to your car... pathetic, I know) and as I was loading up her car she asked what I drove. I pointed to my car which was two parking spots away and she says "oh, that's a cute little car! are you going to paint it?"
I usually get that one... the "are you going to paint it?" question. cause it's a teal car with a dark silver hatch and light silver fenders, plus some massive oxidation on the hood and roof... kinda ugly... -------------------- 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |

I always get comments while in the line of a fast food drive thru... The people saying, "Hey man, nice car. Looks hot." or "Clean car, you gonna sell it anytime soon?"
One time I had a guy in a 95 supra tell me that he liked my car. he said it was nice to see a 6th gen celica in that good of shape. I also get the whole, "Is that a supra?" ...no... "well it sure looks like one..." ...ok... Thanks, i guess... Lately ive been getting comments on how loud my car is for having stock exhaust. My coworkers ask me if i have a gutted cat or any mods to my exhaust, But they all say it sounds sweet and really good for having just intake. And one of the guys has an rx-7 so i take that as a pretty good comment. This post has been edited by BluuFire: Jan 20, 2007 - 3:07 PM -------------------- |

Driving home a Collegue of mine last monday after a game of poker. Went on the highway when he says "Well it doesn't feel that much different then before you swapped" I was just cruising/normal accelerating up to that point.
I stepped on the brakes (nobody visible in rearview mirror, 4 mile straight) and said, "You want to meet your creator", and looked at him (Just like Paul Walker to Eva Mendes in The Fast and The Furious 2 in the green Evo) and them floored it up to 112 (speed limiter). The look on his face alone was worth the entire swap Since then he's been begging to drive the car So the compliment was the look on his face and the fact that he cant stop talking about cars/tuning/performance when he's around me. Time to bring this thread back from the dead.
At work, just talking to kill time... coworker:"Dude, what year is your car?" me:" 96' " coworker:"Seriously? Damn! Everytime I see it I think 'That thing's got potential' " then we spent 20 minutes chatting about our cars and our mods while one of the other guys was listening in and trying to make sense of our conversation lol I like that no one expects our cars to be as old as they are -------------------- |

lately I get a lot of "Damn, is that thing turbo!?" "Nice set-up!" or "Take me for a ride!" which, after the ride, is usually followed by "holy crap! are you sure you're not making more than 200 horsepower?"
