I've got 215/45/17 No kits, although its lowered 1.5" front, 1 " rear.
I used to have 205/40's I think, but I bought new tires and I'm much happier with how the 215/45's fill the wheel well a little more. Looks a little more substantial, but I guess its just personal preference. -------------------- psalm 69 |

Of course they matter but dont make a real difference between the 205-225 range. Which is the most common chosen tyre for the Celica's
For example. A 205/45/17 tyre would be as effective as a 235/40/17 tyre in height/thickness, But since the specific type of tyre is very rare (as in no one buys them in that size) prices for them are. I had 215/45/17 tyres and would have anything less then that in diameter. Those big arches of a 6GC need to be filled up. Even with my 18" rims I think a 40 wall tyre would be better to fill things up (have 35 wall now) -------------------- JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!

I'll be going for 45s next time. 40s just look silly with stock suspension. Also, the actual tyre tread pattern makes a big difference. The tread I currently have gives the optical illusion of making the wheels look skinnier (<205) than they really are. I'll be changing the tread pattern next time, too Sorry no pics at the moment, my car is at the garage.
