so i stall out at an intersection and go to start the car again and nothing happens.

the only thing that happens is the clock dims.. i try to rollstart it and the bucking of the car i guess shakes something and i can start it normally.. so i get to a parking lot and try to re-start it.. nothing.. just clock dim, no headlight dimming, no nothing.

roll start it again to get it home.. nothing.. i checked and rechecked the connection from the battery to the starter, checked and rechecked the plug above that lead, checked and rechecked grounds, tapped starter with a rubber mallet, etc.

so i guess its the starter.. except that every thread on here says that a bad starter will click when you try to start it.. but in my car NOTHING happens, the only difference between the key in on and start is the clock dimming.

any suggestions?

battery and alternator are fine as they have been religiously checked in my ongoing hunt to fix my 20 mA parasitic draw..

the only other thing i can think it being would be my clutch safety switch or whatever its called, but i doubt it considering the car did restart on its own once and that doesnt seem like an intermittent problem

U got a Volt meter ? Seems to me a bad, weak battery ?
If you get under 11 volts, dead battery and there is not enough voltage to start the car.
Bad alt, not charging the battery....

If your Battery is good, you Will Hear the starter relay clicking.

How old is the battery ???
Try to recharge the batttery ? You got a charger ?
If not jump it and see if it runs ok once started.

"Bucking" is a sign of weak ignition whcih fits in with low voltage.

Do you have any dash warning lights on ? Usually the break and the battery light
come on when the alt dies.
