another thing people dont realize is that the silvertop is WAY overrated and only makes about 120hp at the wheels. thats about 5-10hp above what you would get with a 5sfe. why bother with all the downtime and money, just to end up with a slow car?

You guys are making me feel bad JK. Both you and Doc are right though Lagos. Lately i've having the urge for more power on the Celi. I mean the 20v 4age HP felt great compared to the 7afe, but since I lost to a friend's supercharged TC i've been wanting more HP since then. I was thinking i've buying TODA internals for the 20v, but knowing how expensive it would be if I bought straight from TODA or Toysport. And since I still want to have an N/A engine in my celica, I wouldn't mind just swapping in the 3SGE Beams in the car. I don't need that 200HP at the wheels, I just want to have another screamer that puts out more than the 20v.

You know, I've been giving this subject a lot of thought lately, and I honestly don't recommend 4A engines to anyone anymore. Ever. You see, no matter what swap you do, you're going to end up spending a good amount of money. Then after spending all that money, if you end up with an engine that only makes 160hp on a good day, how's that feel? It sucks. And then you tell people that you did an engine swap and they're like, "Cool! How much power does that make???" And you answer. "well... 160hp". "Oh."

On the other hand, you spend some more money and get yourself a 3SGTE in there, then when someone asks you how much power it makes and you can say "250hp ", that feels a lot better. And "when you get in the car and step on the gas and it scares you a little, you say to yourself, now THAT'S why I spent all that money!"
