What msd do you have?

Read the manual.

Check the rpm limit. it may be set to low.

I think he's using the SCI ignition, check on his profile Ed. wink.gif

have you used 8910EIS for the adapter?

Check for plugs, plug wires and distributor cap to verify conditions. The distributor cap must be very clean to avoid air ionization which can bring to misfire. if you can drill some air vents on it.read MSD manual to see how to.

In addiction, verify that if you have 2 cylinders which fire at same time, the relativde plug wires aren't too near one from the other cause you can have a spark induction to the other wire.

Hope this help wink.gif

You stated that you have the sci. Is that the SCI digital plus?

To you have a tach adapter?

Msd recommend not using stock wires or solid core wplugs wires with there unit.

Try using some low resistance wires and see what happens.

If not, I will have to download the manual and analyse it for you.

Ok. explain to me for the record what happens when you start the car and move of.

Tell me all even if it seems insignificant.

Get some ngk racing plugs and some low resistance wires.

The problem i believe is the wires and the plugs are causing the sci to oscilate or become unstable after a period of time, which send bad signals to the tach which the cpu cannot understand, if the injections are maps base on timing (which would normall be.)

When you takes it off, is your tach reads good? If it does, you do not need the adapter.

If you want to, go to msd and joint the forum like me.

First off, get rid of those bosch plat 4's. Those will actually hurt the performance of your car, something about the it's so insulated that it gives less of a spark on our cars. Get some NGK's (any will do) and some higher thickness wires. The skinny 5.5mm that comes stock won't cut it in the long run and will eventually burn up. When I had my MSD 6AL I had the 8.5mm Magnecore wires, were effin perfect. Also, change the cap and rotor. This is like a must when putting on an ignition with the power of an MSD. Also, what coil are you using? The stock coil? As long as you've wired things up right, it SHOULD be fine. I personally went with the MSD Blaster 2, a standard 12v coil. I had a problem with the car just dying because I had a bad connection to the coil itself, just something to try.
