when i'm going 45+ mph and if i push in the brake, the brake sometimes goes in half way and then finally starts braking. i lift off the brake and push back in and its fine. anybody know what the deal is? i dont think i should drive the car til i get it fixed even tho i just got new clutch

1. your brakes are probably waisted already and you need new ones.

Sounds like it could be a leak. Don't drive it until you get it fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
could also be air in the lines or a seized caliper? |

did you try changing your brake fluid and bleeding the line?

yeah, thats the first thing you should do. fill it up and bleed them.

Might be the master cylinder goin', that's what happened to mine a year ago.
It feels like its not catching the brake and eventually it feels like you're sliding on ice. Glad I have a 5spd, I learned to downshift real quick after that. Got to the point where it was just about the only way to stop the car. |

first thing im goign to do is bleed it, if doesnt work, i might check out the master cylinder, bc thats what mine is exactly doing

I wonder if mechanics are doing something wrong, because my master cylinder went right after i had my clutch replaced also... (like a week later)

no, it was doing it before i replaced clutch, other owner didnt replace old clutch right tho, he claimed it was put in 10,000 miles before i bought it, and clutch went out after me driving it for about 10k miles. they didnt resurface or anything and left bolts missing. fixed all that when i got new clutch (my father owns his own business)
