I came up with a much lower estimated value on some of the stuff, but I'll take your word for it that he did spend that much. I still give him mad props for even blowing that much money (even with my estimate).
If he could afford to spend that much, ask him to pay a company to research a device that will shock the f*** outta vandalizers and car theives. You know... like the one they showed in Robocop. Mad props to your homie... And I'd like more info on his system still. I can see he had a full Kicker system, with the exception of the Alpine of course. But what else did he do besides the L5's, the amps, the custom fiberglass box, etc.? -Ray |

Ray can you try to stop being so negative? This is about the 20th post you have written saying you don't believe something someone has said, or outright told them they are wrong. I would have PM'd you, but I'd rather mouth off in someone else's thread

well.... i guess natalie's showing off my celica again so i might as well come in here and answer any of the questions you may have regarding my toy
i do have to admit that spending the amount of $$ i have spent on this celica is a little rediculous, but it is like an obsession to me and at least it's been keeping out of what else is out there in this messed up world but on with answering some questions for ya.......... as far as the stereo i used to have in the celica, it consisted of many components (many were hidden) and please remember that these were all purchased in the early summer of '00 so prices have fallen drastically from what i paid back then (3) Kicker L7 solobarics (2) Kicker ZR 250 amps Kicker ZR1000 Phoenix gold wiring Phoenix Golg Powercore Kicker resolution separates frnt & rear custom fiberglass subwoofer enclosure / amp racks / panels Alpine CVA 1005 monitor Alpine DVA 5205 dvd/cd Optima red top battery i forget every little item that was in this system, but i know there's got to be more in it. i just can't think of what they are, concidering that all i told the shop to do was make it the best, loudest, awesome stereo you can cram in there....... and after the bill it came to a little over 11k any other questions or comments are welcome .......thanks for the props everyone !! |

Vavoline had me throw those graphics on the car for HIN 2 years ago because they need something "flashy" in thir booth, plus i got 2 days stay at a 5 star hotel in seattle as well as free stuff to HIN (passes, shirts, ext.) and also got a years supply of free SYNPOWER oil and engine treatment stuff !!
VIBRANT performance is my main international sponsor right now and i am currently debuting their product lineup for 2000+ celicas this november down in vegas at SEMA. they have so far hooked me up with various interior pieces (pedals, shift knobs, ext.) as well as their first prototype exhaust they made for '00+ celicas |

That's definitely a lot of money to spend, even back in '00. I know that prices have changed dropped (significantly), but I have members in my team that have similar components and a lot of custom work that didn't spend that much. But like I said before, mad props on your car man. I especially like the current look. Just don't go crazy on the body because that nice/simple look kicks arse. -Ray |

DjTOY, what are your plans for the car in the future? I remember seeing your car years ago when it was red and looked like this:
Even back then, I thought your car was incredible, and now it's even better! Nice Work! -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

well.... i plan on doing a few more extreme mods but before i do those things i want to get myself a few other toys (i need a few waverunners and a street bike - r6, and a sport truck - chevy Z-71)
but yeah..... i wanna do a complete one-piece tilt foward front end (front bumper, fenders, hood, all molded / welded into one piece) also i am debating on getting a lambo-door conversion kit...... but i almost wanna think that might over do it .....what's you opinions ?? i also need to get some ICE again especially since i am basically doing the show thing with my celica but i want to get some sponsors to do that for me as well as find a sponsor for a nice set of bigger brakes (BAER, stop tech, AEM) i've also got a polished "show-cage" getting installed in the next few weeks - it looks bad ass, i just gotta make a 5hr drive to medford oregon to pick it up - i just haven't had the time as of lately Coomer - .....where at did you see me at ?? was it at that lowrider show in yakima a few years back ?? if so, ......that was forever ago !! |

A lambo door conversion would be nice. It's one of those things that I feel will never get played out. Others may think so, but I don't. Tail light conversions and stuff are played out, but lambo door conversions are clean... I say you go for it. |

The lambo-conversion would be sweet. You don't see too many Celicas with it either (Atleast, I haven't.). I think the tilted front end would also be sweet. But not if you plan on doing anything heavilly with the engine.

i almost feel as if the one-piece tilt front end is a necessity, considering that not only will it be awesome for shows, but having access to the whole enginebay at the tilt of the hood (it will also be able to be removed) will help in any type of access or work needed to the motor.....
i think i say this do in fact that right now, my front bumper is molded to the finders and if i needed to replace the radiator.... i can't, or if i go get some FI and need a FMIC i can't do that either, unless i cut the front bumper off and re-mold it after any type of engine work was done...... but then something under the hood may break again and i don't wanna have to deal with crap like that........ and so on and so on....... so yeah..... I basically WANT a one-piece foward-tilt front end !!! *this conversion will probably take place this winter and it'll be ready for next years show season (the shop that did that work for my car said they'd do the conversion for right near 2k - that's including all the welding of supports and braces, custom brackets for the headlights, custom hinges, paint, ext) This post has been edited by djTOY_2000: Jul 9, 2003 - 9:36 PM |

Sounds decent. I say go for it--especially considering your engine's current availability state(work-wise).

I give more props to whoever jacked his stereo. The owner probably deserved it if it was left long enough for no one to notice someone stealing a custom setup and DVD player and all of that stuff. I don't know about you people but if I ever had a custom install OR a 11k stereo, it would be theft proof.
