hey celica peoples, i have an mr2 and i just joined this board because i do like the celica's look and that i have the same engine. in a couple of years when i have money again, (because i'm spending all my money on my 3sgte because a friend blew my 5sfte cause he should never be allowed to work on cars ever mad.gif ) i want to buy a 6th gen hatch and buy the 3sgte and awd tranny. because i want to make it awd. besides buying the driveshaft and rear diff and supporting suspension components, what would i need to buy, and what kind of work am i looking at doing, and about how long?

Best thing to do is look up Celiman05 in the Members Rides section. He is on off the few who actually completed the conversion succesfully.

And BTW his car is for sale

Its not that people can't do the swap. Its just that its to much custome fabrication and a lot of money and time. I can't remember how long it took Celiman05 to do his. But i'm guessing he took almost a year getting all the AWD stuff fabbed up. A lot of people on here have the 3s swap but left it at that because fabbing up the AWD conversion is a lot of work.

Not to mention the fact that must companies only sell a Frontcut or engine + necessary stuff for the swap, but not the Rear end drivetrain.

And can be slower too. Depends on what you are using it for though.

Don't think thats possible, due to the differences in wheelbases which would mean the shafts would vary in length. Best would be to find a place that sells the rear suspension along with a front clip, ive seen a few places do that, with an an RC185 man did i want to buy that.
