I get power to my headlights only, when i turn the key, nothing in my car gets power, like the radio. However the guage cluster lights turn. the only light in the cluster that is on is the air bag light. engine light wont turn on. When i turn the key i could hear a relay in the glove box area only, starter wont even make a sound.

I unplugged the temp sensor, the afm, plug and one large engine plug which i dont know what its for, but its wires are good. Any ideas? It kinda feels like the harness isnt grounded correctly but not sure.

all fuses were checked, not found burned. I checked the ones in the engine bay and in drivers side footwell. Please help my car is stuck here at my friends house. frown.gif Thank you

either your battery is dead, or you disconnected a ground wire.

check your grounds, and make sure all the plugs going to your ECU and the 3 plugs behind the dash are fully connected.

I would say check you have re-assembled your ignition key correctly. On some models there is an induction coil that fits around the ignition key to allow the security system to talk to the keyfob. If this is disconnected or not correctly fitted the starter motor relay will click but the engine won't start.

Also check the battery voltage. If some of the ECU sensors are disconnected, the ECU kinda goes into overdrive monitoring the car systems which can very quickly drain the battery. It is best to remove the ECU fuse while working on electrical systems and only replace it once you have tested you mods.

thanks alot guys i fixed the problem. i had unpluged the large grey plug in the fuse box and when put it back, i guess i didnt secure well enough with that white plasic piece that locks it in place so it let go, cutting all power to the engine. It looked like it was plugged in though so it threw me off. thanks again guys i really appriciate it.

stupid mistake i know but i had spent all day changing my brakes, calipers, rotors, steel lines and my shift cables. Long day= stupid mistakes frown.gif
