I was just wondering if there are any racing seats made for our celica. If not, how hard is it make the mounting bracket for the seat. Also, what are your opinions as to which is the best looking and most comfortable seat out there. Any help would be appreciated.

Some of the GT4's came standard with Recaro SR's although finding a set is quite hard in the UK, i guess even harder in US. You could buy some other Recaro's (eg, even old ones from an Evo. The Evo 4 had same seats) and fit them to the celica with Recaro/Bride MO frames.
There are LOADS of options, Corbeau/Cobra/OMP also do frames for the Celi.

I've gone for Corbeau Carrera's in mine. They're nice and comfortable and have loads of kidney support to hold you in ('larger' users might find it a bit too tight..i'm 33" waist and its very snug).

sparco makes brackets for our car.

The bases go for around $100CND without the sliders. Sliders are about $50 more...they fit perfectly into the car, just u might need to trim 1 little peice at the edge of the seat where the door is.
IPB Image

also u gotta buy a new grade 8 nut and bolt to hold ur seat belt in. The clicker part needs to be taken off the seat and attached with the sensor to the new base. I would buy em cuz the measurements plus having the seatbelt part would make it pretty hard to get done perfectly.

They do, but i wouldnt get leather racing seats, kinda defied the purpose of racing seats. Sparco can also custom upholster them for u in like leather and fabric. I would suggest sittin in the sparcos before you buy one, same with any seat. Some seats fit really snug and others fit really loose. I went through about 6 seats b4 i setteled on the Torino's.

Hey isn't the harness in the first picture perfectly lined up to break collar bones and make you two inches shorter in case of an accident? I'm not trying to bash anybody, but it might be something to look into for safety reasons.

Cheers for the heads-up, guys. I genuinely wasn't aware of that factor. I did read up on the advice for what angles the belts should/should not be at and as a precaution did leave my standard seat-belts in, too. Wasnt a case of 'wanting to be cool', if i wanted to be 'cool' then I'd probably drive with a cap on my head facing the side! (if you actually happen to do this, then each to their own) tongue.gif
Thanks for the comments but 'boo' to your sarcasm. tongue.gif tongue.gif
(don't worry, i know you guys are actually helpful and friendly, as are the rest of the 6gc lot wink.gif )

95CelicaRacer: they're TRD skirts, my friend smile.gif

Actually its 0 - 45 degrees. I've got my harness setup like the passenger side of the first pic (the three point). The danger comes when people bolt their harnessess to the floor...near the seat brackets. Raz's look fine...all the places he's bolted them up to are quite safe.

(please see edit)

EDIT Just checked the website http://www.corbeau.com/products/cr1/cr1.shtml

"The CR1 is extra aggressive in the kidney area and will fit up to a 36" waist. The Wide version (IN ALL COLORS) will fit up to 40" waist."

('CR1' is still the 'Carrera'...i'm assuming just what they renamed it for the US market)

I have a 36" waist (yea..i got fat..stupid whiplash), and i have no problem in the seats, i even had one of my bigger friends in the passanager side..hes got a 40" and another friend with a 42" waist and they fit, not very comfortably, but still fit. Most sparcos are a good size because they are ment for the north american and european market. As aposed to say a BRIDE witch are ment for little japaneese drivers. My friend Sasha has a bride in his S14 and hes like 120lbs, 5'4" and he barely fits into it..lol But yea, sparcos are usually good, same with momo.
