The hatch itself isn't where the weight is. It's the glass.
If you were to upgrade to a different kind of rear windshield, such as plexiglass, then that along with the CF assembly would make a difference. -Matt |

i have the vis cf hatch and there is a difference in weight minus glass between the metal and cf one
Also its not legal to drive on highways etc with lexon glass. It looks nice, but idk. I like the look, but from far away it would look like you just got a hatch off of a black car and put it on. So I'd get it painted even though the CF looks nice up close....
