I have decided that my 4afe is way too slow. I was thinking about turboing it, but it kinda has high mileage. So the most cost effective solution would be a 4agze swap. I have a couple questions though.
Can I use the jdm transmission with the LSD? Will the engine fit with the intercooler on top? Will the ST motor mounts work? |

Will the ST motor mounts work? you can use the tranny if you change the trans mounts and the axles... The intercooler should fit... The ST mounts will work without mods if you use the ST tranny. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

Im not too sure, but the MR2's engine didn't use a raidiator for cooling. So how did some of you guys solve this problem as far as cooling went?

So how did some of you guys solve this problem as far as cooling went? Of course they used a radiator. Running custom coolant line isn't that hard. Anyway... if anyone is gonna do a 4AGZE... I personally would NOT use one from an MR2 (145hp). It'll have to be the later models (160hp) from the late AE92 or AE101... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

hurley97,
The wiring on that swap is custom, that's the kind of conversion that I routinely do. As for emissions, that depends on what kind of inspection they do... if they only do a tailpipe test, then you should be fine. If they check the OBD2 system to see if there are any codes, there might be a problem since you don't have OBD2 anymore. Normally, though, you can find a way to get it passed. -Doc -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |
