^ i think it means/relates to; that a single person can only be clamed once, so if your parante clame you or a wife/husband clames you you cant then clam yourself on your taxes. the more people you clame the more money you get back, so in a marrage the person with the biggets return posiblity would want to clam both people then the other person clames no one and gets a small return.
(just what I think, may not be right) -------------------- |

I'm supposed to be getting approx $4,000 back. Thats gonna pay for the rest of the car, possible Carlos sainz front end, then start saving for a new toy. When I get that 4 grand things are gonna start lookin up!
PS: The reason why I am getting 4 grand back, is because of school. I was able to deduct so much from my income taxes within the first 5 years, with a cap of I think 4800. Depends on how much I worked. last year I didnt work very much, and only received 700$ back. This year Ive put in hella more and will be able to receive the full 4 grand back. QUOTE(Rockford @ Jan 21, 2007 - 10:23 PM) what is that payment???? someone could explain to me??? (just curious) Throughout the year, citizens in the United States pay federal taxes, along with other fees, that come out of their paychecks. Depending on the wages earned, amount paid in, and other various things, such as deductions(school, donations, dependents, etc), you get a certain percentage of the federal taxes withheld. Sometimes you get 100% back, generally if you are a dependent, and are in school, etc. Sometimes you owe the government money, if you have your own business, or were unable to pay in enough, due to your hours worked versus wages earned (sometimes happens to servers in restaurants, as they only earn $2.13/hour, generally). Anywho, so you "file your taxes", i.e. report what you paid in, and all your deductions, etc, then you get a payment back from the government. It's complicated when you break it down into numbers, and how they formulate it, but that's a decent explaination of what it is. -John- -------------------- |
