Can't to see him drift in the D1 series. He is going to get destroyed. Also glad, that wasn't his supra either.

a) by calling him a tool you're just proving that you are a tool really.
Calling him one, just because he's from a more financially inclined family and gets to do things that he likes and that you are unable to do because you're too poor or other means to do such just proves yourself ignorant.

b) every drifter hits the wall its a fact of the sport

c) haha thats funny he hit it two times

i know everyone hits the wall... i sure have. and im sure i will again.
but hes 15 and yes he used to talk very cocky before. hes on one of my other forums.

I have respect for him tho, hes a lucky kid who recieved the chance of a lifetime, i hope he does well... ill be rooting for him more than I root for Sam H. or Reese M. (i dont care for them as drift drivers)

but hes accually hit the wall 3 times now (that im aware of) he wrecked at Irwindale before too, understeered right into it on his first lap of amature qualifying back when the viper was still blue.

But heres a pic thought you'd all enjoy... LOL

I 100% wish he was in the supra his dad got him, not "his" supra. No respect for people with free things, they learn NOTHING in terms of respect. Its to bad he wrecked a good drivers car because VH1 wanted ratings. Another child from a celebrity which is trying to leach off mommy/daddys fame. Sad....

He still talks trash, hardcore. Hes on the supra forums often untill they all laughed at him for crashing. But I guess his "Hours of practice" didnt help. Why do you have respect for someone who has earned nothing? Achieved nothing? Done nothing to get the things he has? So if somoene handed me 10 million you would be like damn hes a hard worker he deserves that? I think Sam is a great driver, Ken and a lot of them, this is not a sport I am good at but like to watch. I hope he crashes agian and gets hurt so we can see 10 books and 100 episodes on "the trooper was hurt, but hes GOING TO COME BACK Watch Hogan strive to victory" junk.

that's not cool, man. not cool.

i don't care that he has opportunities to do things i can't. more power to him.

my complaint is that even though he has this opportunity, he isn't respecting it. after watching his body language immediately after the crash, and seeing the interview...it's apparent that he doesn't know anything about the car, and it seems like he's only there for himself.

he said that he hadn't gotten used to the car after some changes were made, and he went out anyway. if it meant more to him, he'd have waited until he was sure. either that, or it had nothing to do with the car, and he made a mistake. he even mentioned something about the viper being as hard to drift as "the s14 i used to have," which had nothing to do with anything.

i'll give him that he thanked some of the people that got him there.

i'm just sick of seeing people get handed the opportunity of a lifetime and more or less messing it up.

Random questions here...how many people have actually tried drifting?I'm willing to say aside from me, and thrwnsprkz( my good friend who is now going out to get his us drift license to race in the nopi series) not many people here have. Hogan has talent. Most people have no idea how hard it is to drift...and to slide the correct way. Yes he may needed to conduct himself in a mature manner, but come on people...most of you drive fwd underpowered cars. You have no idea what its like like throw a 500+ rwd car slides at 50+mph so its kinda messed up when people say he sucks or i hope he crashes and dies. And Dan is right, don't be pissed because of who he is, he's work to get where he's at right now.

so your going to hate on him cause he really didn't care about wrecking a viper?

OH NO!....its just a car who cares, he has the money to fix it, or his Sponsors and Parents. I've seen some drivers out there that are good...but dont' know dick about the cars they drive...does that mean they shouldn't be driving? hell more then 80% of the world doesn't know anything about cars and they wreck...should we hold it against them?

And i can easily see a Viper being HARD as crap to drift. They are notorious for not being very well handling cars. My ex-gf who is a racer even admits they aren't very good. the viper was never ment to drift and he's doing it pretty well for his age and experience. So he does deserve do credit for trying and learning to drift a HEAVY poor handling car. Granted yes he might be cocky, but thats his age...many of us are cocky when young thats just the pains of life....

you say it wasn't cool for me to make that statement.....what makes it ok for you?

i'm pretty sure we've all been handed something or had something at one point in our lives that we have messed up....

dude, i just meant calling me a tool for calling him a tool wasn't cool.

the fact of the matter is that we differ in opinion. i think drifting is retarded, but i'm not going to call you a tool because of it. it's your opinion and i respect that.

i don't plan on changing my opinion soon, and if you think that makes me a tool then so be it.

but, as i said before, not cool.

laugh.gif

edit: for the record, i have tried drifting.

Orbital, yes I have driven a 500hp rwd car but no I dont drift it. I have drifted in the past with a MKIII supra, the MKIV are a lot easier to get tail happy personally. Its just not a sport for me, he did a rookie mistake and needs to go back to basics instead of going in head first.

Playr158, the car is heavvvvily modded to be a great drift car, hense why its been so sucessful in the past. Its a car, yes. But its a responsibility given to him and he just threw it away like all the respect he has with the things handed to him. Ill bet if you were 16, got a free viper, supra and anything else you desired you wouldnt have respect for anyone not of your "level"

I think its a very childish thing to say that he just threw the car and any respect away. You make it sound like he was going out to understeer, in his 3rd lap none the least so he wouldn't qualify. The one thing i think we are all failing to realize here is that if we had Nicks life going up, we would have a similar outcome as he. We would get spoiled with things left and right because parents want to see their kids happy and succeed. If my parents could give me what Nick's gave to him...they would in a heart beat...and I'm positive that everyone else's parents would do the same. So don't bash him cause he came in to heavy on the throttle. And to you people that are familiar with drift and have tried it...even once, you outa know about understeer and oversteer...so you should see and understand how and why he wrecked

well that viper is far from being stock... vipers have VERY poor steering angle from the factory. they add spacers to the steering rack, larger wheel wells, steering angle multiplyers and a ton of other little tricks to get it to do what it does.

Not a big deal, most if not all D1 cars are this way. but you can tell what drivers have more engeneering due to their factory backed sponsors.
This being one reason I dont care for alot of the most popular drivers & the entire Formula D series in general.

i could go on days about this but i hate getting into it.
