Best fit => ANY authentic body kit (not as easy to get as knockoffs and A LOT MORE EXPENSIVE)
Fits with *MINOR* fitment issues => ANY knockoff kit (easy to get and A LOT LESS EXPENSIVE) Fiberglass is ok to have. Most kits nowadays (especially the ones made for a Celica) are made of fiberglass (knockoffs) or a combination of fiberglass and carbon fiber (most authentic kits). I don't know what you've been told about problems with fiberglass, but I would like to hear them as I'm pretty curious what kind of RUMORS get spread around. Also, you may want to consider using periods, commas, and other punctuations. It helps people know when you're done with a thought, sentence, and it's just plain easier to read/understand what you're saying. |

Why, just so you guys can rip off my ideas? Is it a crime for wanting to be unique? Why must I reveal every little detail about my vehicle just to compromise my hard work and efforts? Does that make me an ass? C'mon now... I know that everyone on this board is creative in some way, shape, or form. Come up with your own ideas... and once you do, your accomplishments will lead to a very rewarding feeling. Now calling me an asshole was uncalled for. |

if you made those sideskirts or had them custom made... thats fine
but a message board is to share knowedge, and I'm just looking for some nice skirts so this is where I go to look for them, and other 6th gen parts I may be interested. and when I see your profile sideskirts, I think "wow, thats just what I'm looking for" then I think to myself, "maybe it says in his profile what they are" but no thanks for your help. -Jim --------------------

Hey Jim... do a search for my board name and check out how helpful I've been... I've been sharing LOTS of information... but I don't see why I have to share every single detail about MY car... like I said, I want to be unique But oh well... go ahead and think whatever you want to think about me... because of you and certain people's attitudes... I'm not sharing any more info about my car and the new custom mods that is currently being done to my car... that way, I'll save from hearing people calling me an asshole for not sharing information about MY car. Let me ask YOU something: If you owned a family restaurant, invented a new SECRET dish, wouldn't you want to keep that within the family? Or would you share the same information with EVERYONE else? So think about that... then think about how me applying this concept to my personal life makes me an asshole. Who's the asshole now, punk? -Ray This post has been edited by kuya1284: Jul 12, 2003 - 3:33 PM |

that is pretty rude, I dont know for a fact if your making fun of me, but if you are, be a man and tell me what you have to say in english, if not, sorry. and Ray, I never said that you havent been helpful. but you are ****ing nuts if you think that telling people what kind of sideskirts you have will ruin your cars originality and as for your dumb ass analogy(sp?) you can't really compare your car or personal life to a business establishment such as a family restaurant. If I owned a family restaurant with a secret dish that was amazing, it would increase the profits greatly, so of course I wouldn't share the recipe. your car is a different matter, I respect your car and how original your ideas are but by sharing what kind or sideskirts you have will not likely increase any kind of profits. your car will always be original, and if I put the same kind of sideskirts on my car, it dosent matter, because we live thousands of miles apart. look at how many people know about the combat bumper, but only two people that I know of on this board have it, are these two cars not unique because another person has the same bumper? wow, and now you have taken down your pics in your profile now nobody can help me figure out who makes those skirts thanks alot, your still the asshole... punk ---your friend, Jim --------------------

Everyone: Can someone tell me why this fag is having such a hard time understanding why I want to be unique? Jim: True, you can't compare my analogy to what I have accomplished on my car. It's the *simplest* analogy that I could come up with to try to make you understand. But obviously you don't. You say that you would give away the secret just to gain profit, but look at KFC, Wolfgang Puck, etc. They've become really successful WITHOUT giving away their secrets. Now, by you adding in an additional factory... profit... that does change things... but that it's totally besides the point of the analogy I was trying to make. You know what... I don't care what you think. I'm still not going to say what I did to my car. I don't see what's so difficult for you to understand about me wanting to be unique. And when I say unique, that means me doing something that no else has done or will ever do. Are you really that dense? How old are you? C'mon, please tell me. I really want to know why it's so difficult for you to understand what being unique is all about. As for your question about the Combat bumper... read the following definition of unique: u·nique (adj. ) 1. Being the only one of its kind: the unique existing example of Donne's handwriting. 2. Without an equal or equivalent; unparalleled. The reason why I won't say what I've done to my car is because of people like YOU... people who'll just rip my ideas... and make myself less unique. For me, it's not only a matter of being original, but also unique. I'm done with this thread. Say all you want... because you're never going to convince me otherwise... come up with your own **** you copy-cat-wannabe-fag... --your beloved rival, Ray This post has been edited by kuya1284: Jul 13, 2003 - 5:58 AM |

Ray has been helping out alot. He and a few others have alot more years of experience under their belt concering our Celicas and cars in general...it is very kind of them to share with everyone rather than be cocky little bitches about it. Back to his analogy, it is COMPLETELY relevant. Maybe he is doing a ridiculous amount of work to his car this time around to be different and to be recognized. Maybe in the near future sponsors will pick him up or he may win cash prizes here and there. It makes it much more difficult to win or gain sponsorship when someone has the EXACT same car because they can't be original. Granted there are only two kits available for purchase in the US for our cars, it kinda pisses me off when I pass some half ass Celica that has the same kit as me. I understand where Ray is coming from, with the limited parts available for our car, maybe he has stumbled upon something unique to his car...I'd hold on to it with my life. Jay, just do yourself a favor and go find something unique to your car...it'll be more power to you. Why would you want to have the EXACT thing someone else has anyway?
