QUOTE(junost4 @ Jan 23, 2007 - 10:06 PM) whould the gts trany from a 7th gen gts fit on a 6gen celica 3sgte would not fit. beside the 7th gen transmission is not very strong at all. I'm assume it would break from all the torque the 3s would put out. |

from what ive heard, it wont work with the 3S. But if you put on the C52 bellhousing it would fit on the 7A. I may be wrong tho

QUOTE(quicknstyle @ Jan 24, 2007 - 11:34 PM) why are we saying whould??? because if we use the words "CAN NOT fit" then it is stronger and can be proven wrong. When we say would we are leaving part of the argument in the air so if some day someone decides to pay alot of cash to MAKE it fit. Then we are not wrong. But for your average joe, the 7th gen gts transmission does not have interchangable parts that would allow it to bolt up to the 3s easily. Therefore it "would" not fit. The gearing is wrong for a turbocharged engine and the torque curve does not match up to the N/A torque curve of the 7th gen engine. An example of what this means is: every time you shift you drop out of the power-band and go through the turbo lag agian. Although this example is not true; it does give you an idea of how bad transmission matching with a good engine can make a car slower. *edit for grammer* This post has been edited by Hanyo: Jan 25, 2007 - 10:19 AM |

7th gen tranny is very weak. And would not sustain the power of a 3s for long.
Heard of some turbo 7th gens with a LSD and drag tyres destroying the tranny after a few 1/4 runs. -------------------- JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!
