Well, after 9 years of owning my '94 Toyota Celica ST, I decided it was time for a change.
I put a lot of hard work and time and money into it, but nothing can take away the over 200k miles clocked on the chasis, and all the various little hack mods that eventually catch up to you. So, I was shopping on eBay on Friday, as I frequently do at work, and came across this sweet ride. Well, Saturday morning around 7am, I had a friend(Shocker, from these boards) cart me the 3 hours down there. I test drove it, and bought it immediately. So, long story short, I picked up the '03 Sentra SE-R Spec V for $10,400. It has 45k miles, power everything, moon roof, factory Rockford Fosgate system, etc. So out with the old: And in with the new: Already added a Sirius satellite reciever: It's been fun. I still own the Celica, but its future is undecided. The most prominant thought in my mind right now is to part it out, return it to stock, and then give it to my girlfriend. If you want, check the profile and PM me if there is something you want, and what you're willing to give me for it, and I will decide from there. Also, keep in mind that if it's something like the suspension, shifter, etc, I will need stock parts as replacements. So, cash + trade for parts. Anyway, I'll still be around every now and again, especially seeing as how Shocker and I are putting his turbo on this weekend. And I will be checking PMs, and possibly putting up a FS thread in the near future. Thanks for everything, -John- This post has been edited by Mynzeyes: Jan 15, 2007 - 1:21 PM -------------------- |

Grats on the new car... Very clean. Looks-wise a downgrade... but probably a lot faster than the ST.

This should be a lesson for people to NOT "hack mod" their cars.. if you mod it, don't mod it half ass with crappy stuff. well, everyone does it. what i mean by hack mods is leaving a screw out here, or leaving a clip out there. losing a clip. or the seats, having to drill holes to mount them. etc. having a 1994 Celica, expecting all bolts/screws/clips there is asking a lot. especially with how much this car has been through. it really wasn't hacked together, that's just my way of saying it. . it's not like i don't use quality parts, or know what i'm doing. i guess i used the wrong word. . baiscally i'm saying, the car is 13 years old. the "hack mods" are not the reason that i'm getting rid of the car anyway. i've had it for 9+ years. it's time to move on. . QUOTE(tim86 @ Jan 16, 2007 - 6:58 PM) its sad to see an original member move on, but it will always happen and im glad you got somethinig that has equal or more potential Thanks Tim. Yeah, it's still hard to believe that I was the 7th member, I've been on these boards for almost 5 years. Before that, it was celica.net, and toyotaunderground.net or whatever, and all those. For the time being, I'll still have the Celica, but it will be in the girlfriend's possession. For those interested, I will soon be posting a FS/FTrade thread.. Major parts that will be available: - JDM Projector lows and clear highs. (thinking around $600 + stock trade) - TRD short shifter with knob (thinking $100 + stock trade) - Custom front/rear strut tower bars (thinking $200 shipped for the pair) - MAYBE the 7th gen seats (don't know..) NOT available: - 2.25" cat-back exhaust - Black face reverse indiglo gauges - 8000K HIDs - Ground Control coilovers with KYB shocks set-up PM me in advance if interested for any of these, or want to make an offer. I'll still be around, and I'll post updates about the Sentrash as I get them. (In Off-Topic, of course. ) -------------------- |

Congrats on the new ride. I had a sentra once, but nothing like that hehe. Mine had the huge 1.6 and went so fast the speedometer quit working. Sad I never got to see you riding around the area, but I'll have to look out for Shocker and his turbo here soon. Good luck on that endeavour.
