So, just before i moved down here i put my car into the shop and got some work done. One of my calipers were seized, so i had it replaced. I also had a set of Russel Fittings DOT stainless steel brakelines on. My pedal was a bit soft at times. Any ways, if any of you want better breaking or just want to be a bit safer, i highly suggest this upgrade. It cost me $85 for the lines cuz i got them at cost, but they go for around $160 CND, and they bolt in like OEM lines, but BIG BIG BIG difference in the way the car drives. I highly recomend this for any one who likes to push their celi or any one who does autocross with their car.

Great Upgrade Valo666 smile.gif I recommend that as well and as you said its not expensive and its worth the money especially for people who cares about safety.

Sometimes the soft pedal means that you got some air stuck into your brakes.

is there a diff between SS brake lines and SS braided brake lines?

how long should these SS brake lines last?
any problems with them in winter weather or constant changing climate?

what other cons are there to using these?

SS brake lines are braided..well as far as flex lines go. They apparently last longer than OEM ones because they arent going to be affected by the weather as harsh as the rubber ones will. As for climate change/winter..shouldnt be a problem because it works exactly like a rubber line. If any thing, it might even be better for the breaks in the winter using them as heat sinks and keeping the brake fluid cooler. But i have friends who run SS flex lines on their car year round, and no big effects.

If and when you get that part # that'd be awesome; seeing as how the winter is coming soon and it may be coming a bit earlier than expected. Now all i'd need to do is know how to bleed the breaks. I've only ever helped with that when I worked as a ported at a collision center in Beltsville, but never actually saw what needed to be done. If only someone would make a sticky....hmmmm.......

They're cheaper or about the same price at many online retailers.

I already posted the part number, direct from Russell's website. And you can search for information on how to bleed your brakes...there's plenty of information on here. wink.gif

I'm doing an upgrade to rear discs on my '94 ST. I've purchased rotors and pads, but I'm curious about these stainless steel brake lines. I have them on my tuner Mustang and I love the brake feel you get with these lines. I didn't know I could get them for the Celica.

Now, I went to the russellperformance.com website and I didn't see a part number for my specific car. Which ones work for my ST?

Can you use GT lines on ST brakes?

for the front yes but the rear no (unless you have swapped GT disk brakes in the rear)
