Hi there,
Ive had the lovely take to mr T light lit on my Celi since ive bought it and i decided to see what it was the other day... turns out ive got code 42 (4 flashes, pause 2 flashes) coming from my ecu, relating to the speed sensor signal... I cleared the code to see if it was an old one and it worked - untill i drove it for about 10 minutes! Anyway its now come back and im wondering whats the deal! nothing seems wrong with the car (other than im getting between 22 and 24 MPG... could this be related????????????). Shold i take it to mr T and let them look at it for just under £90 per hour??? To be blatently honest i have no idea what the speed sensor signal is anyway! Thanks in advance for any help! PS its a '95 2.0 3sge UK Celica GT (non import) -------------------- |

the speed signal comes from a sensor on the gearbox and goes to the speedometer. on the 95 gt it is a blue wire. I know that as I've recently fitted a cruise control and that is where it's signal is picked up from.

Do you have to rev the accelatorator while in neutral? Where is this speed cable everyone is talking about? Any pictures? -------------------- 94 Celica GT

I'm just guessing here.
Could be the sensor is out? This might cause it to think your going 0 MPH and your temp/RPM/Load are registering fine. would think this might affect the MPG too. Let us know what you find! |
