Hi Everyone!
I've been eyeing the Gen 6 Celicas for a while and will be moving to the west coast, specifically LA. So I'm taking this opportunity to look for my dream car! Just wondering if there any good leads besides autotrader and carmax?

I'm looking for a daily driver that's mostly stock and not looking to put any serious mods on the car. I'll be poking around to get some ideas, I have a tendency to go for just the appearance mods.

Thanks for any advice in advance! biggrin.gif

Besides the ones you mentioned, I would look here, cars.com, and craigslist.

Autotrader tends to be the best though.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Hahaha, sweet wink.gif I'll definitely consider the offer. I'll be up to the challenge of hosting a meet when I get to know the area better! I'm a fresh n00b from the East Coast, lol.

I'm not relocating for another month or so, so I'm PRAYING the car's I'm seeing online now will still be avail when I can go pick it up kindasad.gif

Any advice on that front? Could I purchase it first and put it in storage for month?

I'm totally eyeing this one right now: IPB Image

Looks like a GT unless they did a rear disc conversion.
It looks like the bumper cover in front has been replaced
the paint dosen't quite match but pretty clean looking
otherwise.
Oh and welcome to the site.

Edit for 8k you should be able to find a very nice one.
You could even find a nice vert for that price.

not too sure about buying a car and storing it...you'd have to ask the dealer since they'd have to arrange all of that for you. i'm sure it could be done, but it could get pricey.

but, that celica you're eyeing is indeed a gt. if you could get us more info on what options it has (or post a link to it) we could better determine how good of a deal it is.

looks clean and sharp from here, though!

edit: lookit 97lestyousay! on the spot!

Idk, I payed 7700 for my 98 gt with only 68,000 miles. I guess it depends on where you live and stuff. I had to drive 800 miles total to get my celi

Yea I'm thinking I could argue a better deal. It'd be 80 miles away from where I'll be living. My roomate could help me out with some logistics as far as storage and picking it up.

The Options listed in the description. I asked for more pictures in an email, but it seems like a secondhand dealership, so who knows if they'll reply over the web.

Welcome to the site. That car looks nice. But i think 8k is a little steep. But honestly driving a stick is much better then an auto (IMO) But good luck and hope to see you got a celi.

Why doesn't Carmax have any celicas listed older than 2000?

as long as that silver celica is clean and everything works, i'd say $7500 would be a pretty good deal. alot of the gt's out there have most of the options it has...i've had 2 now, and both had sunroofs, power everything, cruise, alloys.

personally, i'd have to trust somebody alot to let them judge a car for me, i hope your friend is up to the task!
