how much hp can i get from the stock engine ? im stilll goiing to swap a 3sgte but for now i want to mess with the stock so im wondering if its even worth messing with the engine ? pls help

this guy kept his st na and managed to reach i think it was something like 160 whp. but if you're planning on a swap i say save your money for that. or upgrade your suspension.

with the 5spd, boltons, timing, and AF tuning you can expect to sit at around 100-110whp, 120-130 crank.

either way, not worth it since your gonna take everything out and put in a 3s. unlike your suspension which will always be there... unless you decide to do the awd conversion. and if that's that case, i would have to take your car.

In a 2400-2500lbs car, 110hp is enough to do well. A guy on this site, Miro1975, won last years SCCA Solo II Championship in the regional STS class. That's the class that allows mostly just intake/exhaust/header/suspension. That is really a testimate to how well these cars, even the ST's, can do.
