I got tein s-tech springs and I just had my tie rods replaced, I have to hold the steering wheel 90 degrees to the right in order to drive in a straight line
I can't find a shop that would do an alignment for me because my car is too low I do not have oem springs either so I cant switch Anyone knows of any shops that have lowered rack or do lowered cars ? preferably in Illinois -------------------- QUOTE(tufy @ Jul 19, 2006 - 7:40 AM) i dont drive fast, i just fly low |

try caling like mr tire or good year. Mr tire will dot hem but if they know u have after marketparts, they wil charge y $140 rather than $78. I went to Goodyear, $80. But i bought and installed the camber bolts myself.
The key thing is, do no tell them you have anything done. play dumb and say u got the car that way, you think its stock. they will figure out, but prolly wont do anything/. |

I took my car to a reputable repair shop where I know the people and told them that I installed all new sport suspension, and I needed an alignment. No questions asked, did a great job. Either find yourself a very reputable independently owned shop like I did, or take your car to a Toyota dealership and let them do it right the first time.
My shop did say however that it was pretty difficult to get it into alignment because of how low it is (which I totally expected), but they did as good a job as they could, which was close enough for me. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

QUOTE(playr158 @ May 15, 2006 - 1:04 PM) mine was so low i had to remove the front bumper to get on the alignment machine... Wow! the lowest part of my car is the pipe from IC to TB which hangs about 4" from the ground, and i was thinking about takeing it off and getting rubber hose taped in place for alignment but i think that this "Just Tires" shop can help me out since they do lowered rides. -------------------- QUOTE(tufy @ Jul 19, 2006 - 7:40 AM) i dont drive fast, i just fly low |

this is why i hate having a car thats too low.
the only time i had any issues with alignment machines, was that the old style machines dont fit my aftermarket rims, because of the rims offset. i found a tiresplus that uses a new stype laser alignment and had it done there. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

I don't have that problem for some reason... lol I went Tire Kingdom. The lift was extremely steep but i was able to get up. But they had to take off the front bar that stops the wheels from rolling forward since my body kit hit it when I would drop it to the pressure I wanted to drive at. But they worked with me.. even though it took about 2 hours to do.. lol This post has been edited by Jaws4God: May 16, 2006 - 8:31 PM -------------------- ~Daniel~ No Longer Celica Owner.. moved on to a 03 WRX-EJ207

Replaced my tie rod inners and outers, and i forgot to count the number of turns on passenger side so I just "estimated" it ... I was quite off but yeah Just Tire did my alignment really well, however they charged me $100 for "specialty" alignment... but it was worth it... now I can enjoy my sturdy tie rods and my brand new yokahama parada spec 2 -------------------- QUOTE(tufy @ Jul 19, 2006 - 7:40 AM) i dont drive fast, i just fly low |

Yeah after I went back to springs.. I had problems too.. but I went to home depot, got some help wood ramps.. and got right up.... minus a little scrape on the center of sideskirt at the top..
I'm just frustrated because they aligned my front but my car still pulls slightly left and my back right tire is bald.. I know they adjusted my rear alignment when I had bags but now they tell me they can't adjust the rear -------------------- ~Daniel~ No Longer Celica Owner.. moved on to a 03 WRX-EJ207

All my cars have been lowered 1.5inch and i just take them to any shop and tell them i want a alignment and they do it...Dont say anything about being lowered...those retards will make up excuses and try to charge you extra and then say you need camber bolts or some crap...unless you are super slammed or have bent suspension components they can get it in spec...
