Now, He and I are going to look at the new Tiburon today (because of the warrante, but I really like the Mazdaspeed Protige. What would you guys do?

Ok. I say keep the Celica, drop the cash of getting a new car into an engine swap and other modifications. But, if you're going to just get a new car, get the Tiburon (V6). They are fast, under-rated, and a very classy car. I doubt you'll be able to get your hands on an SRT-4 unless you know someone....
Still, think about the cost of those cars. Anywhere from 10-20 grand (maybe more). If you dropped 10-20 grand into your Celica...Just think about it. |

I voted other. Why? Because:
1. I'm keeping my Celica and 2. I plan on getting an ES 300 sometime b/w the end of this year and early next year. |

What is wrong with your car? If the exterior and interior are in great shape I'd do an engine swap with a solara V6. If not then go for the Tiburon or the SRT-4(worth the 20K), I don't know much abotu the Mazdaspeed...

of those cars I'd probably pick the SRT-4... but like everyone else said, they aren't readily available.
I think a much better option is to take the money you would have spent on a new car and mod your celi. imagine the things you could do. your car is probably worth 8k maximum right now. thats 12k you have to play with instead of getting a new car. you could build your car to 300 hp with that kind of money, and still have enough left over for plenty of goodies. |

The MazdaSpeed Protege is a nice car. mmmm turbo.
You could also look at a new Mazda6. Get the v6 and 5 speed. They are pretty fun to drive |

Get the Tiburon V6, it looks hot as $hit and its got a 6 speed, you should check out the one tiburon show car that this one tuner just made for Hyundai, its awsome, if you take the Hyundai badges off no1 will ever think its a hyundai. It looks like a seriouse sportscar. The Mazda is nice 2. All those other cars cept the srt-4 are a dime a dozen. Ever think about the mini cooper-s? Its barely over 20k and they are really nice inside and out.

if you really feel the need to rid yourself of the celica id say go with the SRT4, its by far the fastest from your list and mopar is really opening up a world of aftermarket for the car. but if you dont feel like you NEED to get rid of the celica dont.
so i say keep the celica, but of you dont, then get the SRT4. -------------------- Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them all No but I don't buy it Like anything you do, as anyone you are Cause I'm... Ten Speed, of God's Blood & Burial |

I almost got an SRT4. Just go to all the Dodge dealerships and tell them that when they get one of their two allotted SRT4's that they should call you. Most dealerships are only allotted two SRT4's a year unless they are a bigger dealership. I went to one...just to see if they had an SRT4. I showed them my credit report...and I drove it. I've driven most of those cars, including the Tiburon GT (which I don't like next paragraph) and the SRT4 is the best. It's the highest on insurance though...definitely the best driving car out of all of those (best sounding too). The shifts are so smooth...and runs at 16psi stock! (Trust me it does...rubber smells good too!)
Now the Tiburon...awfully nice car except you cannot see out of it. The Civic Si...I personally didn't dig the looks all that much. RSX...I drove the Type S. Nice ride. This is right up there with the SRT4. The shifts were so smooth. Very nice ride...I just see so many of them out so I don't really want to get something that everyone alreayd has. Impreza...didn't drive that one. Mazdaspeed protege. Personally I want this car. Only because at the moment I'm very partial'd to Mazdas. They need love to in the Import world. This car isn't that bad either...it only runs at 8psi stock...so if you put in a 1000 and bought some little turbo goodies...you could probably get mroe than the 170 it's rated at. Only problem is the first gear. I didn't like how long it was...which really hindered my "from-a-stoplight-accelleration". I'm getting this one personally, becuase you don't see a lot fo them out there, the insurance is nice, and the car is still faster than my Celi and got boost. As for your Celi, hey man...you got enough for a new car. Why not just take out a small loan and swap in something? If I was in the position to do so, I'd do that...but right now I'm just ga ga over getting a NEW car not just making my Celi run like new. Sorry for the long post, but I vote for SRT4. -------------------- 95 Toyota Celica GT

Sorry didn't read all the posts. If you drove the Mazda6...you'd get that over any of those cars. Trust me. I just did the KL-ZE swap in my 96 626 LX...holy crap...it had balls before now it's mad fast. The 6 is even crazier! You looka t the car, and it's all fat and stubby...you get in and it's luxurious...you drive it and it's furious! Holy crap. The thing should have an F1 body and some mad suspension mods with all that Torque. I don't know if the numbers are very high, but I was really nervous that it was goign to fall apart on my 0-60...but no way man it was so sturdy. That car's a luxurious fast car.
Again, maybe I'm saying this because my Saturday's consist of going to dealerships and test driving cars...most of the times it's the Mazda dealerships. But seriously. If you're going to go and drive all of the cars in your list...why not try the Mazda6 S with the 5 speed...sicn eoyu're already going to embarrass yourself asking to drive the MazdaSpeed. Make sure to not get the 4 cylinder Mazda6 (it's ok but....no) you wanna get the Mazda6 S not the I. Oh yeah, and make sure to bring one of your parents and both your and your parent's credit report with you. If you even want a chance at driving the MazdaSpeed or the SRT4...you better show proof that you can buy it if you like it. Make sure to tell the people that you've been checking them out for a while and that if you like the drive you will buy it. That's the only way they will take it out of the showroom to let you drive it. Trust me! I didn't discover this technique til I had already tried 2 dealerships with the MazdaSpeed. -------------------- 95 Toyota Celica GT
