i think to do it correctly, it would come to just a little less to turbo your engine then to just swap it, take ur time, save ur money, do your research n wait for the swap, why go for 180hp when you can go for 250-300 hp

alot depends on what you want , as far as money goes there about the same ,if you do the turbo right , and if done right your hp level could be close to the same ( just swapping the motor and not upgrading the 3sgte) , but tuning the 7a is a bit more of a trick and that is where alot of people have the trouble of (issues) , as far as being differant i think the 7afte would be the way to go , alot of guys do the swap i have seen at least 4 done so far in my area, but i am the only 7afte that i know of here in NW ohio, now if you want more hp than 200-220 than the 3s swap would be a better deal. that is my 2 cent , so as far as money goes they are both the same just one you drop in and the other you tune your A$$ off .

but if you were doing a swap woulndt you have to replace the transmission and axels as well as the engine? so wouldnt it be cheaper to just turbo the ST?

I regret turboing my ST but did it knowing I would. I just wanted to prove a point. Anyway, so far, so good. No big problems or anything, but it was more expensive than a swap. Also, I didn't live here so turboing was quicker.
