It's very nice, simple, and clean. That's how I like my cars. Tell your homie that I like his car. I hope he doesn't do anything else to the body.

Yeah, what exactly has he done that he had to spend $80,000? Because even though he may have changed it 3 times, I don't see anything on his car that justifies the $80K expense. I've changed the appearance of my car 5 times and am currently swapping in a new motor, redoing the upholstry, redone the body, went through 3 sets of springs, etc., and I haven't spent anywhere near $80K.

$60K is still a lot. Unless he's done some real major motor work, he doesn't have nothing to show for it (based on the pictures).

Nice car, but I'm gonna have to throw up the BS flag on the $60K unless I see/hear what exactly he's done.

According to the images, assuming he didn't do any motor work, I estimate about $20K (assuming he did in fact change his exterior 3 times and minus the cost of the vehicle).

if you can't notice, 'cuz i can, i have ever so gradually "matured" with the way i have modded my celica. at the beginning i will admit i was kinda like a punk kid doing anything to the car just to be "cool" (note the neeper flys ....what the hell was i thinking ??). i really didn't know too much about the celica at the time because it was still new to me...... then i joined and found this site and learned a lot !!

- thanks LarryD for creating this site !!

anyhow,

of the top of my head...... (these are all rough estimates)

$29,633 - purchased the celica in feb'00
$ 5,500 - purchase of true JDM TRD parts may'00(wing,sides,lip,rear,suspension,exhaust)
$ 1,200 - installation of trd parts (toyota)
$11,000 - stereo equiptment alone (TV,dvd,subs,amps,ext.) june '00
$ 5,000 - custom installation of all stereo equiptment - june'00
here's some pics of the stereo i USED to have.....

$ 1,800 - neeper flys and tires
$ 1,200 - custom leather interior
$ 2,000 - misc. stuff (new tires, intake, ext.) - summer '00

-dead spot- (fall/winter '00/'01)

summer/fall '01-
$ 3,200 - 19" AXIS hagens w/ toyo tires
$ 700 - new tires (bad rear camber)
$ 1,200 - (2)new TRD front lips - damaged 2 within a month
$ 1,400 - jdm TRD front bumper
$ 450 - jdm TRD foglamps
$ 500 - new intake, injen polished engine kit, hoses, taillights (APC - euro )
$ 350 - hood scoop + paint

-dead spot - (winter '01/early spring '02)

spring/summer '02-
$ 1,000 - RMM sides, roof spoiler + paint
$ 1,200 - new stereo equiptment (previous stereo got damaged)
$ 700 - new 19" tires ....again
$ 150 - TYC taillights

fall/winter '02-
$ 3,300 - TRD clutch, LSD, fidanza flywheel + install

and now i am at this point of the ongoing changes of the celica

- new rims, tires
- custom bodywork & paint
- new interior (suede sparco milanos / re-hopolster rear to match)

i'm guessing about another $10k for whats going on now

so before the latest and current change taking place....

*i am roughly $71,350 (including the price of the celica)

add in the new look.....

*over $80k total into this celica, and i still want more !!!

pics of the different phases

Props to the dude who owns it. Anyone who blows that much on a car gets thumbs up from me. Also I can tell he has really changed his view on his car - looks much sexier to me now than the red version before.

PS. I really hope that valvoline paid him to put that huge sticker on the car! And I think it looks much sweeter without a wing than with that big ugly TRD one.
