Hi guys i have been reading this forum for a couple of weeks, and i want to say "this forum rocks" i learned many things in this time. . . .
Ok this is the main reason of this post I'm from costa rica I'm going to take a trip to US for 3 months. . . so i bought a 96 automatic celica GT for $2200 I ran carfax an autocheck before those reports didn't say anything bad about the car any crash nothing. . . here some questions : -was it a good price for the car ?? -the guy who sold the car says, it was rebuilt. . .how can I prove it ??? (pressure gauge? timing belt) -what is the price for a 3sgte with harness and ECU and the manual tranny conversion everything Without the handwork just parts -Could i find a better celica for a better price (3sgte& manual) ??? Thanks very much, Sorry for my bad english. . . I know I'm a newbie but help me please Aprecciate any help |

Man - My Dad and sister live in Costa Rica. He says if I move there and go to work for his company I can have a GT4 for my company vehicle. He says he sees them there for sale every once in a while. Is this true? Would they be LHD?
$2200 sounds good but without Year, Model, mileage and being sure that the engine is rebuilt I can't say for sure. Regardless, if you want a Manual 3S-GTE then hopefully you at least got a good starting point. If it's still going to be a little bit before you get here, have it sent to a member on here named Dr. Tweak and with the right amount of money he will turn it into exactly what you want. I think he will even source the engine etc so all you would have to do is fly to where he lives and then drive your new beast to wherever you will live here in the states. He has an impeccable reputation and you could def trust him. He's done several swaps for other members so he could prob get you references if you needed them. I think that's what I would do if I was you. EDIT - Oh yeah. Welcome to the site! This post has been edited by Negative: Feb 7, 2007 - 12:40 PM -------------------- |

Ok. . . every car which is registered in costa rica has to be LHD,(no exceptions) Besides the taxes that you have to pay for the car when you import it are really expensive (arround 60% Black book reference price ). . . and the conversion to LHD so itīs almost impossible to see a real JDM GT4 6th gen driving in costa rica The thing is. . . that in costa rica the handwork is extremely cheaper than US and they have enough knowledge to do the swap and all stuff, but the parts sometimes are cheaper in US . . .so thatīs why Im asking. . .Wich parts do i need to make the swap and the manual tranny conv . . . i will get in touch with Dr. Tweak to see if i can go on with this Thanks for all. . . everything I could do it for you here in costa rica . . .just le me know |
