urbandork reminded me of a question ive been meaning to ask everybody. Ive seen a vid of someone while they were driving, and their needle was reading at about 8 or 9k whenit red lined, and i remember someone making a comment saying that theirs redlines at 9k.
im only getting about 6500 rpms when i hit the rev limiter is there something i should know? when i got my tranny rebiult, the guy said that it felt like i still had some power left and 6.5 seemed kinda early, i feel the same way what can be done? -------------------- |

your redline is ~7grand
8 grand would take some head work, 9 grand would take a **** load of work |

it depends on what work was done to the motor.
normally on a 3s, the redline is at 7000 but the rev limiter should kick in around 7300 or so. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

I'll betcha that the rev limiter is lower in the 4th gen because the ECU is for an automatic, since the Caldina came with a 6-speed AWD auto tranny. Most of Toyota's auto ECUs have a lower rev limit than the manuals.
Perhaps with an eManage Ultimate we could raise the redline a little, I'm sure with that CT20b there's more left up top to gain -Doc -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

God damn.. imagine if they would've done a 6psd manual awd 3sgte trans too... that would probably actually be swappable into a celica w/o much trouble.. not to mention the 4th gen 3sgte too... sometimes toyota makes me cry. -------------------- 87 4runner DLX 22re, 5spd, 4.30gr, 4" lift, 30" tires, HID w/ Projectors, 6spkr + sub, custom exhaust, 94 celica leather seats, SR5 gauge cluster and clinometer. Actually, my understanding is that the Caldina ONLY came in automatic, and I know for certain that your ECU is an auto because I wired in four resistors to fool the ECU into thinking the auto tranny is still there, which is why you don't get a CEL
