when we swap into the 6th gens they run like low 14's right? why is that?

Because your chassis is very close to 1000 lbs lighter.
And you only have 2WD.
AWD is only good for limited traction. Once you have traction, all it does is drain extra power from the engine.

Don't get me wrong, I love having AWD, but it does hurt power to the ground numbers.

is the 6th gen really that much lighter??? wow....i thought the 5th gen looked lighter. o well.

5th gen chassis is physically smaller I believe.

But the 6th gen is a bit lighter.

Keep in mind the GT/ST 5th gen is only ~ 2600lbs.
The Alltrac has more options, the widebody [adds a slight bit of weight] and of course the AWD, which adds a considerable amount.

plus toyota changed the metal that the 6gc shells are made of.. lighter metal and is less prone to rust.

Yes, it's all about weight/hp ratio and traction.
2005 Lotus Elise : 190hp, 1975 lbs, 13.2 sec @104mph
2005 Nissan 350Z : 287hp, 3247 lbs, 14.6 sec @99.3mph
