Alright I got $1500 to spend!
I can't make up my mind! CAR is STOCK!!! 1) First I was in love with the GT-4 Conversion, but then the SSIII splitters are growing on me. 2) SSIII 3) Should I save for 3sgte swap? I passed up a wrecked MR2T swap, because block said..."the mr2 is the same as the celica 3s but it's harder to put in...it's put in at a different angle....the wiring will be the issue as you will have to extend because it's short....alot of people have a hard time putting in the mr2 engine cause of the angle and how it sits differently from a celica 3s...it can be done but be aware you will need more money to put in" so I passed that up. They wanted a beat up truck for the car, since they lived on a farm. So this thread is what would you do if you had $1500. I need opinions, comments, and others ideas I can do as well! Thanks! If you want cosmetics.. I suggest going for the SSIII kit with stock sides... There are many examples of them around here..
Get a better stance for your Celica, a set of Springs and struts will do the job, even try for a rear swaybar for better cornering. Wheels and tires to match your cosmetic upgrades.. a set of 17s with 215/45s will be very nice. Just remember to get wheels with a proper offset so it wont look sucked in. If theres money left that you want to spend. detail the mess out of your car and do some cheap mods on it... |

I don't know what you have already, but if it was me, I'd lower it, get tint, and rims. That's just me |

a 3s from a celica will sit the EXACT same as a 3s from an MR2
the wiring harness no matter what will need to be spliced and extended celica or mr2.... the MR2 requires alternator swap and oil pan/dipstick swap...maybe coolant neck as well so yes it takes more but not for the reasons your friend said he was just wrong with $1500 this is what you need to do take it and put it in a savings account...sit down for a few days and think about what you want the car to do show car go car auto cross car funny daily driver drag racing you need to attach a purpose to your cause once you figure out what goal you want to reach you can go about figuring out how to get there the first thing i would do is probably invest in a set of TEIN SS coilovers...you get increased handling by A LOT, a good ride, adjustable ride height <--important This post has been edited by playr158: Feb 19, 2007 - 10:26 PM |
