So some of you may know that i've been working on my Alltrac for almost a year now, but i finally took it out on the road a few hours ago. I was waiting for this moment for such a long time, but finally felt that it was ready to hit the road. I took it out to go eat some pho with my friends. It handles great. I'm going to take it out again tomorrow to get new tires put on. Im sooo excited, tonight totally rocked . I'm just so happy i finally got to drive it! I don't know if i'll be able to sleep tonight haha.

Ok here's how it started (or not started hehe)..
So when i first buy the car, nothing operates on it. No lights, no camera, no action . So i take the little guy home, feeling sorry for it and i give it a home in my garage. The first problem that needed to be tended to was that the car obviously wasn't getting any power. Easy fix, new battery. Now i had a few lights going on but my car wouldn't crank. Problem, bad grounding. the previous owner relocated the battery and bolted the negative wire onto painted metal. Solution, RE-relocate battery to the front and ground it properly. Next problem, car would crank but wouldn't start. Found out becuase the guy had the spark plug wires all in the wrong order. Solution, put them in the RIGHT order. Ok so then after that, car would start and i was like score! Only problem was it was running richer than Bill Gates. So then after a few months, decided it was the AFM and saved up enough money for it. Bought it, recieved the wrong one, and that kind of held my project back. Then a friend decided to be nice and bought me one when he went to the junkyard. EXACT same thing as the wrong one I had. So I paid him for the AFM anyways, as a thank you for his efforts. Looked and looked for the RIGHT AFM, but everytime i asked people to give me the part number on the AFM sticker they had, they would stop replying to my messages. FINALLY just sourced an AFM from an RX7 FC, and tada! She is alive! Now I'm just replacing any parts on it that are worn. Throwing on new CV axles next week, then idk what else to do. It feels like... i have no purpose in life anymore haha. The past year has been spent trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with my car. It all looks so simple when I just write things down as 3 easy steps, but dammit haha, it took forever for me to find problems and solutions becuase i would get mad at my car and not want to look at it for days haha. I have learned a lot during this project though. What i have really learned is to stick with the damn 6GC cause it cuases me a lot less headaches haha. But i still love the Alltrac becuase damn dude, when i was driving it at work, there were people staring at my car and they were laying on the ground trying to see if i was really AWD . Atleast thats what i think they were doing, I dont know what they were doing. Maybe they just wanted to look at my car from a low angle shot? Hmmm. But anyways, it turns head . -------------------- |

i dont want to burst your bubble.... but a did quite a lot of research into the rx7 afm for the 3sgte. i found out that its a really bad idea to use the rx7 afm on our cars, because its setup to read way too lean for our motors because of the way its calibrated for the rx7 motor. i wouldnt recommend using one.
its not too hard to get a used 3sgte afm. they show up on ebay and mr2oc all the time. i own 2 of them myself..lol if someone wants to donate me an rx7 afm, i could try to see if its is possible to recalibrate it or not. I probably haven't noticed much becuase i haven't pushed it at all becuase im still just testing it's ability to drive on the road. Haha soo.. 95celgt... whats the part number on your afm? haha. The one im looking for is um, currently located in the garage, and i don't know the number off the top of my head I think it ended in 200 or 220, i remember going over this with lagos before. But im sure if you gave me your part number it would refresh my memory. So lagos, how about your afms? are you willing to part with one of them? . Or i could trade you my FC afm too so you could try to recalibrate it if you want. It would definatly be good for the entire 3sgte community if you could find a way to make it work. Let me know. Haha the $5 it would cost me to ship it to you is too much out of my own pocket. It's not worth it to help the entire 3sgte and future 3sgte community hahaha jk. But at the moment it's my only AFM so i can't part with it. I came up with a quote just now. "lean or not, it's all I got" haha ok, lame, but i just got home from work and kind of tired so it sounded good at the time.
