QUOTE(jmastaniza @ Mar 9, 2007 - 4:31 AM) I want to see a prius Hybrib swap into my celica, so if I ever find myself with lots of money I'll look into having it done. I'm sure I could get a prius for what the swap would cost but it wouldn't be as cool as a 6g. ew. ask any of my friends, I absolutely HATE prius's. the slowest drivers on the road, I swear! -------------------- 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |

The stock tranny that comes with it. -Doc except what rear end would you use.....this has me thinkinz With a transverse setup, you don't have a rear differential. The stock tranny that comes with it. -Doc how could you use the stock tranny? the blacktop 4age in the ae111 is tranverse/fwd. wouldnt you have to mount the engine longitudinally for rwd? as far as i know there is no front engine/tranverse mounted/rwd car in existence. i think you are either confusing transverse and longitudinal or you are thinking of the blacktop beams 3sge. edit- i need to learn how to type He asked for a transverse/RWD setup, meaning the engine would be midship mounted, just like an MR2, which uses a FWD transmission with the shift linkage on the opposite side. -Doc -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

ummm dude you got it wrong....defenitly talking transversely mounted meaning the motor is STILL in the engine bay turned 90*
which means you still need a RWD tranny (bell housing conversion), drive shaft and a rear end for RWD where did anyone say to put it in the rear? |

Normally, when someone says transverse/RWD, they mean midship mounted, ala MR2. There's no point in transverse mounting an engine in a F/R (front engine rear drive) car. -Doc -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

few things that are on my mind with this.
rear knuckles? we don't have them now...substitute? what suspension and rear end setups have you considered using? front knuckles? you can just remove the axles out of the front and leave them hallow...what are you thinking to replace them? just some small starters |

Obviously they would have to be custom installed in the rear. The fronts will actually work just the way they are with a modification to the bearing setup... a simple solution would be to use the outter parts of a cv joint and the stock nut to keep the bearing bolted together, just like stock. -Doc -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

Have you ever done, or thought about building up a twin charged celica?
I've thought about doing that.. but I'm thinking that the cost of a project like that would be ridiculous. -------------------- |

What about a 2JZGTE into an old school muscle. I.E. Mustang Fastback or Firebird? There are some realitively cheap rolling chassis floating around here.
