car still doesn't make any power after 5500 even with the turbo? I would think that it be way faster to shift at redline with the turbo because you stay in boost longer.

i have another one with a granny launch, but still a low 8 run, in the car he timed a 7.9 but i think its a bit off from the video. http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s167/gr...nt=CIMG0771.flv -------------------- you know why they put sheep at the edge of a cliff.... that way they push back!

Do u have any sites or proof that that correct? just wanting to know.... -------------------- DRIVE UP..........

just look at any 5sfe dyno sheet.
max power is produced right about 5500 or so rpm. there it is, in black and white. thats a stock 98 5sfe, with just over 52K on it, and the same engine + turbo -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

funny. the dyno kinda shows the power very slowly go down after 5500 but when you're actually driving it feels like it hits you like a ton of bricks!

Because it doesn't have the torque production to support it.
The same reason my 406 small block chevy falls on its face below 2500RPM, no torque. Get it into the 4K range and let it go and there is no stop untill you let off or the tires blow. Much above 6K and you are again screwed. But redlining these cars is more for the "go fast" sound than anything. The Torque produced above 3K pulls better than the fall off of over 5500. |
