Anybody out there have some factory rims they want to unload?

My car won't accept aftermarket rims. I've tried two sets and they both make the car wobble all over the place and make the steering wheel jerk around. The stock wheels don't do that. Three different tire shops all say my rims aren't centering up on the hub, and we've tried three different sets of hub centric rings to remedy the problem with no luck.

I'd put my stockers back on but they're all scratched up. The person that had the car before me was a chick, and they always mess their tires up scrubbing curbs.

I'd prefer the newer style that I've seen on the 7th generation Celicas, the ones with the really pointy, almost nonexistant five star spokes, but I guess I'd be interested in the 6th gen 5 stars too.

Search on ebay for Gt-s rims. The new ones off the 7th gen gt-s. I believe Hioctane has them. They go on ebay pretty cheap.

Well, not to sound rude, but since they're just stock, and I've already got a set that work (I'm only trying to get ones that aren't so damn scratched up) I wouldn't want to spend more than a hundred. Shipping on wheels is a killer, so the price would have to stay low.

I want to get in touch with someone at Toyota who really knows what they're talking about and find out what size hub the sixth gens have. All the tire shops find nothing wrong mechanicly with my car, they point to the rims not centering up on the hubs. Even though we've tried three sets of hub centric rings, they still say it's the wheel not centering up on the hub. If the 6th gen and 7th gen have the same hub, I'd like to try to wait for the nicer 7th gen, but if you guys don't mind the low price, I'm interested in buying.

BlkGT, if the picture at the bottom of your post has your factory rims, those are the ones I have, and those are the ones I'd want. Those are the 6th gen factory rims I think.

Yea, those are stock. Have you tried another shop? Sometimes some shops aopproach things diffarently then others, so another might be ablwe to figure it out? Or what about a dealer? I mean there HAS to be a solution.

I've tried 3 different shops and took it to Toyota. Everyone says the wheel doesn't center up on the hub.

how much did u pay for your rims? and did you have the offset, and all of that stuff correct on the rims when u got them? i have heard of people just getting cheap rims and they end up riding really crappily. so if you got them really cheap or something, that might be the reason. if i were u i would just put back on my stock rims, sell the ones you have on ebay or something, and pick up a set from a tried and true bigger company. they might cost a lil bit more, but that might solve your problem, and if it is still a problem, you can sell the rims, and if i were you i would just have my stock rims resurfaced if they are all scratched up like that. it is a lot cheaper than getting a new set of rims and they look like brand new rims. a lot of comapnies do that. talk to a body shop and they will know what you are talking about. Transwheel is a good company that i know of. they will prolly send you a set, and you will send in your old set and you will get a core charge and it will end up being fairly cheap. the rims are 300 from the dealer EACH, i got a resurfaced one from transwheel for like 100, and that was without the core charge, so i am guessing it will be like 50 bucks per rim, and you will have like new stock rims. but i would check out some higher quality aftermarket rims first.

I paid 120 for each, they're American Racing wheels.

I already had a set of 16's I put brand new tires on that didn't work on my 96, but rode perfectly on my 91 GTS. I shelled out 450 for the rubber and now I've got them sitting in my barn along with the rims I can't use and haven't been able to sell here or anywhere else. We tried for about a month to make those suckers work on my car with no luck, doing stuff like balancing them every other day, swapping from front to rear, putting new tires on the rims thinking I had a bunk tire somewhere, truing the rubber to the rim and using hub centric rings. At that point everyone thought the wheels and tires were just too much for the car to handle, since the problem wasn't there with the factory wheels, so to fix the problem and have a nice looking set of wheels I bought some brand new ones in the factory size.

That didn't work either. The tire shop I bought them from has been in business here for 60 years or more, I'm sure they know what they're doing when they order a set of rims for a car. I was present when they were on the phone with the rep from American Racing, so at least I'd think that if the tires shop didn't know exactly what wheel went on my car, the manufacturer would.

The fact of the matter is, the car has been to three different shops, two others besides the one I bought the wheels from, along with the Toyota service center and nothing can be found wrong with anything. No one has charged me any money in all the time they've been attempting to solve the problem, so it's not like they're making something up to keep getting money from me. The only explanation is the wheels don't center up on the hubs, and all four places come up with the same explanation without me telling them that the other places have already told me that.

The place I bought them from has said they will probably get full price returned to me since obviously they sold me something that didn't fit on my car.
