Do head units control the quality of sound or anything.I guess what i am asking is if i should buy the more expensive head unit.Or does the head unit only control like shuffle,repeat,EQ,ect...Please help me!!

yea, i mean each head unit is gonna sound somewhat different since they all have their own EQ system.
you dont have to go with a super-high-end one for it to sound good, but i mean a 50 dollar CD player is gonna sound worse than a 120 dollar one. IMO

Head units are priced for their sound quality and audio fine tuning options. A simple cheap cd player will probably not sound better than your stock one, and might in some cases even have less features.
Most people think that real good speakers make the system, but good speakers on a crappy head unit will not sound very good. On the other hand, a nice head unit with some good audio tuning features will make even stock speakers sound pretty decent.
Just my own 2 cents.....
